Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. This hostel does not have an elevator. If someone carries heavy items like luggage, it can be difficult. However, the hostel reception may help carry the baggage to the upper floors. Toilets are clean but but some are tiny; sometimes, it is difficult to sit properly on the commode. The shower is okay but not very spacious.
The location of this hostel is excellent. It has a kitchen with almost all necessary equipment. The staff is friendly. We got a single room with two double beds.

The floor could be cleaner.
The room was nice and big, but in the subterranean next to the communal kitchen and staff rooms. The window was to the garden where people sat and smoked in the morning. Earplugs are needed. The floor wasn’t super clean. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast looked nice, but we had our own food with us. All in all a good stay though.

Bedroom 11, a window to the corridor with no curtain. Just behind the toilets and shower, noisy.

Steep stairs up to the third floor where our room was. A bit difficult with heavy luggage.
The location, the rooms. The staff we met at check-in was super friendly and helpful. Nice backyard, well equipped kitchen.

There was no elevator and the stairs were pretty steep and narrow. We had a private room which was quite roomy, but the sheets and especially pillows were worn-out and old. We only received two small towels although there seemed to be a bigger, used one, hanging in the toilet. The price wasn't cheap enough to explain this.
The location was great and we received very friendly service.

The hostel is good, the room has a nice size, the bed is comfortable and the shared bathroom is clean. The check-in is easy with very friendly and helpful personal. It is right in the center of Rostock, only around 15 minutes (walking) away from the central station. Super markets and good restaurants are also nearby. It was a good stay and I would absolutely recommend it!

The location is in the center, everything is clean and comfortable: room, kitchen, bathroom, and restroom on the top. We enjoyed it with family.

As it is an old building construction, it's not that sound proofed. I'm a light sleeper (and I didn't bring my earplugs), so I heard my nextdoor neighbours every time they left or got in the room and walked through the corridor :(
Super comfortable room, with plenty of space, and very neat. Everything was very clean, kitchen and supplies and bathroom as well! And every person from the staff with whom I spoke was really friendly.

Downstairs showers could use places to hang/place your belongings.

The community kitchen was not so clean.
The staff was really nice as well as the building and the community spaces. It is a really quite place although it is right next to the shopping area.
