Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsThe pillow was too soft and the blanket too small for the bed. In my case the location was not very good because I had activities in Overhausen. Overhausen is not well connected with this hotel because probably you will need to go to the center of Mulheim and then something else, if you are not by car or taxi.
The hotel in itself is very nice. The common areas are great and I had a big room. Easy to check in and easy to check out. The common areas has games, and also a auto service kiosk that you can use with drinks and snacks.

SwitzerlandThe room was very basic, the bathroom quite small, lighting was simplistic and not particularly practical. There was a bar/lounge area with some vending machine approach, and no staff/or good vibes. For what seems a newly renovated hotel the room design and features are very poor.
It was a simple trouble free stay and we didn't see any staff for the 2 nights, nor many other hotel guests.

United KingdomNeed bit more info when you book. As if there is no people there is no one to ask ...and who designed the shower...? Im athletic man but was hard to be there.... imagine a large person in there will be nightmare...🫣
The hotel is something from the future with no staff whatsoever... the room was very nice..like your own apartment... 100% recomend to try.

FranceThe "staff free" lounge was a good idea, except that the drinks / food vending machines were impossible to use with credit cards or cash. So no food or drinks for us! Better accessability of the refreshments would ahve been great.
Very clean, nice lounge and the pool table was excellent to unwind in the evenings. Free tea in the lounge was also very nice and a very convenient location to get to Essen.

United KingdomPerfect location for a stopover during a long car journey. Car charger in the hotel car park worked out great, I could charge overnight. Nearby is a large retail park (5mins walk) to stock up on essentials and get food. The rooms were a good size, we had 2 adjoining, which was perfect for us.

United StatesThe wifi could have been better. There were a few areas in the hotel room that had much weaker connection than others.
Location was good and very close to a bus stop and many supermarkets and other stores. Also a very nice and easy check out process.

Room was large, clean, and had all the amenities described. It was easy to use the code to get in.

GermanyStylish (business) hotel with spacious room plus game room, fitness room. You get a code for hotel door + room door and that works perfectly. Only thing: there is no staff. Maybe I'm old-fashioned but I like to be welcomed + supported by actual people

NetherlandsI needed some information so I called the number that was shown in the hotel. They literally hung up on me 3 times without saying a thing.
Big plus is that you can go straight to your room using a pass code. No need to do the regular check in at the front desk like a regular hotel. It was clean and quiet. A lot of parking space. The bed were nice and rooms were big enough.

SloveniaThe room was spotless, as well as the whole hotel. Weirdly, there is no hotel staff, but you must consider it - it is different and could also be a great added value. The great advantage is the possibility of getting breakfast early - on our request, we got it around 06 am.

IsraelThe room we stayed in was in a floor (maybe the only floor) that had no direct elevator to the floor. The shower was nice but the water got out at the bottom, so we always had to use one of the towels to dry up (we got new ones daily though)
Nice lounge area and overall everything is recently renovated. Checking was online and you just get a key code, but the process was easy without issues.

BelgiumThere is no front desk or other personnel in the hotel, but due to a technical issues we have met the manager (who was really kind) and we actually also saw some cleaning staff. It feels a bit special almost science fiction-like to stay there without any staff (who helped us with a lost item!). We also didn't need the personal touch for our one night stay, but I can imagine that this is not for everyone.
The nice breakfast was delivered in front of the room and you can get your hot drink from downstairs with the voucher. The location was excellent (around the block there is a huge shopping mall and loads of restaurants in the neighbourhood). What we also liked a lot were the games that we could play there (without any additional costs) like a video game machine, digital darts, table football and pool. If you are thirsty you could get a drink via an online paying mechanism. It's cleverly done.

ChinaBreakfast is same everyday, no other choice. There is no front desk clerk at this hotel, so help requires calling or emailing. It is a 100% self-service hotel. It was quite novel for me to experience it for the first time. So if you want to experience this new type of hotel service, you can come and try it.
