On the last day, while watching a Spain game at the bar, a big reception girl in Spain shirt kept calling me a dirty Mexican because I was wearing a green shirt )). I thought “I’m sorry, I’m a dirty Turk, not Mexican”, which is true. I thought it was a friendly banter at first. She was talking with other staff and people at the bar about me being Mexican, that’s all she was talking about with her coworkers. I was only two stools over so she must’ve known I could hear! I don’t know if she was drunk-I don’t know if she thought I was drunk and couldn’t understand them… When it came time for me to get my luggage out from the storage (it’s a paid service), she wouldn’t even acknowledge me when I addressed her. I kept waiting at the storage room till she got done with another guest. She then walks past me and attempts to close the door. I said I’m waiting on my luggage-she asked for my receipt, then said “oh I see-I didn’t respond because I didn’t know what you wanted”-guess she thought I was trying to chat her up lol. Don’t you usually say something when a customer addresses you? She asked for my receipt again. Making sure I wasn’t a thief, she cross referenced the numbers on the receipt with the tag on the bag about five times before finally letting me leave with my backpack. Anyway, as in any hostel, there will always be one weirdo among the guests, sometimes among the staff. Hey sometimes I’m a weirdo. But to all my Mexican friends, you already heard stories about how some Spanish people get about latinos, so if she’s there, expect racism, that’s just how it is. In the meantime they have about 20 different rainbow flags in the lobby. I’m cool with all that. You always share the room with rainbow folks, this time was no different. But if you gonna protect people’s sexual preferences, how about not being a racist too? That’s why many folks believe this awake movement is a bunch of bull.

A little far out from cologne centre however the public transport by tram to the centre is about a ten minute walk away and the nearest shop Aldi is about ten minutes. Would be great if they had a water fountain as I’ve seen this in other meiningers

The garage was really annoying. The reserved spaces were unintuitive because we didn’t know exactly where our designated parking spot were. Furthermore, when we left early in the morning, the exit gate would not open upon scanning my ticket. The staff helped us thankfully, but this could’ve been a bigger problem if the establishment didn’t have a 24hr lobby.

It was very fresh and simple. It had a lot of nice things that you could utilize such as a kitchen, washing machines, and a bar which was a huge plus.

Big disappointment was the hotel insistence that I pay to leave a bag in a storeroom ahead of check in, even though I was a paying customer booked in for 6 days. That is unnecessarily greedy. Never had that before as all hotels provide this service for free as a courtesy.

I understand due to safety windows don't open but, I'm funny like that, I prefer to breathe as much natural air as possible and don't like sleeping with the aircon on. This is not really a negative, just my personal preference. My stay was great.

Staff, cleanliness, location and parking were all brilliant and at such a good price too. Comfortable beds and very clean shower room/ toilet facilities. Large windows so we got good natural lighting and could see parts of the city.

My bed in a 4 bedded room was dirty, there was some hair and a crumpled pillow. The cleaning lady may have forgotten about the top bed when cleaning, but it was already night when I noticed it.

The location of the hotel is good, it takes 7-10 minutes to the nearest bus stop or s-bahn, which in general is not much for me. The rooms are very cozy, they give towel and soap.

Everything was fine in the second room. The first room as written super dirty bathroom and none of the bed was ready made even though it was directly assigned. Because of the pride event it was quite expensive. Almost 90€ for a bed in a shared room is quite a lot. (I had to book on the day as my other accommodation got canceled). These are smaller things. So the points are in contrast to what I would expect for such a price. I'd definitely stay here again.

Very nice staff. I got a upper bunk bed (even though I asked before for one bottom) in a really dirty room with the assogned bed being used. I asked if I could change and got send to a new and clean room. The dorms were like normal hotel rooms with 1 bunk bed and one double bed, en suite bathroom.

On departure day we slept almost till check out time, and had a few times cleaning stuff just opening the doors without knocking - guess checking if we still there or we gone so they can clean!

Very clean and large room (family room). The room has all basic settings, more like a youth hotel. Don't expect the luxury.

Came here with my son and daughter for the Euro's. We had a room for ourselves which was good. Was a good location for getting back into the city centre and also Cologne Stadium. 5 min walk to tram stop with frequent trams into town and return. 10 min walk to Cologne Stadium. Hotel was clean with good facilities and staff were friendly. Would definitely consider staying here again.
