Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Better breakfast it was quite limited.
Very nice staff and cozy rooms. Quaint hotel for reasonable price. Also the center of the city is magical.

The man at the desk seemed sad. Also booking.com said we could check in at 2 when actually check in was at 4.
Room was nice, bed was comfy, shower was good, breakfast was good.

only discomfort I had was the noise of the church bells otherwise a perfect stay
super clean, comfy beds and lots of space in the room! it was great to be able to use the restaurant downstairs and to have the help of someone who speaks English!

I had to choose my breakfast items for the next morning shortly after check-in (probably because of corona, but in no other hotel during my trip this policy was applied).
The hotel is close to the Malerweg (a long-distance hiking trail). The room is silent. There is a nice terrace outside with a view on the Markt.

The breakfast wasn’t the best. The shower could be better maintained
Good location, just in front of the fortress and a few minutes walk from malerweg trail. The crew was helpful. The room was clean.

My shower had black mold in it, I woke up two hours into the night with such as bad allergic reaction to presumably the black mold because I had left the door to the bathroom open after my shower. I literally could not breathe, and had to open all of the windows even though it was raining. I barely slept and I considered sleeping in my car and couldn't hike the next day. the parking was also about a 5 minute walk from the hotel itself.
The location was great, right in front of the castle, and at the end of one of the Malerweg stages. The room was pretty.

These guys failed in every way! See cool story below. Also they are completely unavailable by phone. So there were two independent groups of people coming, needing 4 rooms for 10 people. But these guys managed to fail in every way. The check in was meant to be automated via keybox -- but they never gave the code! To check in, we had to call them, and in that town there is little to no network available! Took us like 1h to check in. When we opened the keybox, we found that they gave us fewer rooms, and rooms were different than what was booked: we booked two-story big option for 4, but were given just a regular double room; while the other group got one room less than what they booked (2 instead of 3)! Also our names were mixed on the cards! So we got some of their rooms! The hosts never fully fixed it. What they actually gave us, after making us wait another while, was -- for two adult couples, a flat that had only one double bed, and the other couple had to stay in a children's room, with two-level beds! The shower had no curtain, the kitchen had no fridge. Next day, the breakfast had no hot food! Finally, they tried to charge us more than was agreed on booking, AND they tried to add tax on top, even though it was already included!!! NOT RECOMMENDED!!!

Room - Room was facing the street, where cars drive by really fast so it’s not possible to sleep with open windows (as you feel like the cars are running you over). - Mattress covers are no cotton but some kind of high poly-blend. You instantly start to sweat at the back once you lay down Bathroom - Bassin sink was closed, mechanism did not work. Had to pull it out by hand - Towel rack not properly bolted. I just put my towel on the top and held the entire thing in my hand - Loo seat wobbly- not fixed properly. I got a fright when it suddenly moved around - can imagine that you can pinch some treasured body parts there Dinner - Low quality, spelling errors all over the menu, pricing not justified: We did not get what we’ve ordered (Fries instead of Potatoes, limp salad without dressing (looked like right out of a bag) instead of vegetables).
Perfect location, friendly check-in.
