The food in the restaurant was tasty, but unfortunately a very limited menu. This is a minus for multiple overnight stays. Perhaps also provide extra towels for a visit to the wellness area.

Like I said in a previous review, the rooms required some renovation. On this stay, we were able to see renovations to the hotel were underway. So this hotel will be a nice place to stay again when it is done.

The location is quiet and there is always parking available for free. In Germany especially, on booking you see so many hotels show that they have parking to only find they want another 20-30 Euro a day for parking so sad. All the staff in the hotel and restaurant are exceptional and most helpful with anything you need. I have never had a rude or bad experience here. When it comes to the restaurant, the food prices are a bit higher, but the food that is served is well in line with this. Anybody who has taste will enjoy the restaurant.

Nice hotel in a historic, old building. Easy parking, great on-site restaurant, superb breakfast, very quite and nice location near a large park. Would definitely stay there again.

This hotel is in a quiet location. The rooms were clean and tidy. The food and service in the restaurant is excellent. The staff here are very polite and helpful.

It's far from Hamburg city center, in case you're planning to go there regularly, which was not my case.

Kind and helpful staff! The facility is bigger and more beautiful than the pictures online :) with a beautiful typical north-german thatched roof ("Reetdach"). The fitness room is better than a lot of commercial gyms!!!! Comfortable bed and nice room!

A bit out of the way. Not able to get another night except at exorbitant rate.

It was lovely and quiet in a nature location right on the Oberalster. Great atmosphere. Staff were friendly. We arrived late at night and needed a taxi to get there from the railway station.

Complimentary bottle of mineral water always has a broken cap seal. It's just filled with tap water and reused is my guess. I never dare drink it. I'd rather pay for an unopened bottle. Not a good look.

The bathroom was squeezed into a part of a sloping roof line. As a tall person I couldn't shower properly or use the toilet without hitting my head on the tiled ceiling. Also, we couldn't use the pool as the pump was broken and the water was cloudy.

Quiet, pretty location within forested area - many walking options. The buffet dinner was of good quality and changed each night. Friendly staff.

Not too much to complain about. yes, the furnishings are a bit dated, but that’s what makes it cool and so German. The night time restaurant staff seemed sad and sour.

The hotel is comprised of a nice complex of buildings (including its restaurants and bars) which makes it feel like a cozy small neighborhood. The nature around the hotel is great to walk into. All facilities were clean and really pleasant to use, including the swimming pool, sauna and the gym. Bathrooms were clean, with hot water and very good water pressure.

That the pool only opened at 8am. I love my 1/2 swim before breakfast. A 7am opening would have been more convenient.

We loved the pool. The breakfast was wonderful and the croissants the best ever. I enjoyed the staffs good humour, especially a young woman(in training? She talked about „Berufsschule“) She was enjoyable in her openness …
