It is undergoing renovation which is necessary, but can make for a noisy stay. It wasn’t too much of a problem for me, thankfully. One of the elevators was being repaired, and the one elevator that worked had some problems that first day. The carpet is definitely older, and for some reason it had not been properly cleaned before had arrived, with several stains that made it feel unsanitary and that you shouldn’t walk on it barefoot. However the staff promptly came and cleaned these stains, which made it look and feel much better. The breakfast used to be amazing, we had stayed there years ago. This time it was hit or miss. The rolls and danishes not always fresh, and the coffee great one day and just okay the next. You have to ask them to clean your room, but it wasn’t explained very clearly when you need to do this when I had arrived. I had asked one day, just before 10am and that was too late. Making that process easier for the guest would be great and better communication of this would be helpful. I had also tried to make sure that breakfast was included with my stay when I had booked the room, and although I had selected this through Booking.com, that did not happen, which had cost an extra 21 Euro per day. Not sure why that occurred.

The location is central and has easy access to transportation being right by the train station and tram stop. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom was well designed, spacious and very clean with the exception of the carpet.

Rooms need an overhaul, the design, furniture and carpet seem to be from the 90s. Bathrooms should be renovated.

Location is convenient right across the train station, although you need to get public transport to reach the center. Breakfast was very good and staff was polite.

I strongly dislike the terms and conditions of booking. As a member of Genius Level 3, I received a reasonable discount, I made a booking with an option of resignation on the arrival day and chose to pay at the hotel when I arrived. A few days later, I saw on my bank account that the payment had been made, and the hotel replied, "Conditions have changed because the price is very good." If conditions change, I usually resign. Contract is contract. Achat does not comply with the contract, and I must check if it is not against the law in Germany. In Poland, it would. Be aware!

No air conditioning in the room; the hotel was under some reconstruction, and it was not warned about its condition - understandably there was a lot more dust than usual. The room was simply okay, too many furniture items for such a small room.

Despite booking for two people well in advance, the room was prepared for a single person; one hand towel, one bath towel, one duvet. The member of staff on reception responded immediately, though, so no problem.
