Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

The luggage box under the bed is stuck. It takes a lot of effort to get to it. Not every guest can handle it.

The staff were excellent, the property had plenty of stuff to entertain us, especially the pub crawl, which was without a doubt the highlight of our trip to Berlin.

Beds were quite small, not appropriate for anyone above 6ft. Kitchen would have been nice as snacks and food were expensive.
Well located, good for price, nice ambience and very helpful, friendly staff

Maybe not very suitable for work because it is not very tranquil.
The location is very valuable, near to Alexander and to airport, as well as to a big supermarket and the historic landmarks. There are also various restaurant nearby. The room is very spacious. The material of the bed is very good, even better than a 4 stars hotel. Shower is no problem. The floor is pretty clean. And the staffs are very hospitable. There is locker for storage.

And the five days that I stayed at the accommodation in the men's toilets, dirt was pouring out of the siphon, it was a very ugly picture and situation.
Price and location. For this reason I have stayed many times in this particular accommodation!

The sink is broken; water is not draining properly. The light in the unit doesn't work. Two beds have sockets that don't work, and the lights on the beds also don't function.

Bathroom in need of a refresher but it was fine overall.
Good location a few mins walk from Alexanderplatz. Nice staff, good amenities for a decent price. Perfect for a short stay.

Too many groups of young students yelling and blocking the entrance of the hall.
Location was perfect, rooms and toilets were very clean, the bar was pretty good and the staff were just amazing. All of them were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Shout out to Sandra, best receptionist ever!

The private toilets could at least have something for the feet, for going out the shower wet. Everything is wet if somebody else already showered

The bathroom wasn't really cleaned, and the overall cleanliness was lacking. Under the beds, there was so much dust.
The staff was really kind and nice and the location is directly at the city center. The train station is nearby.

5eur for a towel seems too much. Bathroom was not clean enough and there was a bad smell in the shower. Very noisy in the room as you can hear everyone walking in the corridor.

The price for a towel rent for 1 or 2 nights could be little bit expensive.

Bathroom doors in mixed 6-beds room were kind of see through, which made me feel unconftrable while showering.

The pillows provided were dreadful offering no support and giving us sore necks. Please invest in better pillows. It was the only negative and an easy one to change.
Location was great, smack bang by Alexanderplatz. Room size was fine for our family of 4. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I'd have no problem in recommending for anyone.
