Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Nice room, large comfortable bed and well appointed bathroom. Excellent continental breakfast with a wide and very good quality selection of bread, eggs, meat and cheese. The staff were very friendly, and helpful. Lovely outdoor area with terrace and a garden. Location though a little uninspiring was only a 10 minute easy walk to the beautiful old area of Hattingen.

There wasn't as much choice at breakfast as there had been on my previous visits, which was a shame.
Have stayed many times at the Ruhr Inn and as expected, the room was clean, comfortable and spacious with good TV and WiFi. The Hotel has free parking and is close to local shops and restaraunts.

There is no possibility to use sauna services on Sundays. The cleaners do not pay attention to whether there is a sufficient amount of body care products in the shower room. It would be time to put a refrigerator in the rooms

The only issue I would have, there was no air-conditioning. I understand that not everywhere can. However, a fan would have been helpful when trying to sleep in 30°+ heat.
Convenient walk into the local town. Staff were very helpful with booking taxis and advising us about local attractions, etc. They were also incredibly friendly and always had time for a chat. Rooms were cleaned every day. Very nice place to stay and will come back in future

The only drawback was the fact that the key stopped working for some reason. Which was problematic at 0300 in the morning with no staff at the reception, but was easily remedied with a phone call to the hotel phone number with a receptionist coming to sort the issue in 10 minutes Also, dead mosquitos were on the window sill, but apart from these two issues.
The Receptionist who was working on the 19th in the afternonn was amazing, She helped out when the card for the door stopped working at 0300 in the morning, an she still was energetic and helpful Breakfast was amazing with a wide selection to choose from

There is not much in the City.
Everything was great, especially the Staff were very helpful and friendly. Clean, well maintained and very big room. Bed was super comfortable.

No water kettle in the room and we had to ask for towels. The sauna is only open until 16:00 on Sundays but I can not see where this is advertised on Booking as such (we went for the sauna), luckily they switched one sauna on for us. Sauna towels cost extra, no flip-flops or robes provided. It is not really a Spa, just a clean nice hotel with a sauna where to rest for one night.
Very clean, big double rooms, excellent breakfast, close to city centre, nice big windows. I recommend it for one night of good rest and great breakfast (staff was lovely).

Minor details.
The receptionists Ephtelia and Marietta are very friendly and make you feel at home. The location is close to supermarkets, shopping mall and Altstadt, yet in a very quite area.

Not cheap and location on industrial estate not very interesting.

everything was very clean and new. The breakfast was outstanding with many choices and excellent coffee. Check in was easy and very friendly. What a nice surprise to have a welcome drink. Thank you for the fan in the room. it cooled down the room very quickly. Excellent bed and shower.

It was cold in the room and everywhere in the hotel. It would have been nice if someone turned the heating on before the guests arrival. Especially after visiting the spa, it is quite unpleasant to stay/sleep in a cold room.
The spa area, the breakfast. It is clean everywhere. The lady at the reception was nice and friendly and provided more blankets as per my request.
