The bathroom shower drain smelled and needed treatment. The toilet sink tap was cold only and dripped. Overall the hotel rooms looked a little tired but it was in a lower price point than other options, so it was to be expected. The breakfast was adequate. Not a lot of food put out or many options, perhaps to avoid waste.

The location was excellent, especially as I took a train there. There is actually an underpass that pretty much connects the rail station to the hotel, if you know how to find it (it is not at all easy!!). I wish I had as it was raining heavily when I arrived. The staff at check-in were excellent and very friendly and helpful.

We stayed in a completely different room than what was advertised on here. Our room had no aircon and the windows couldn’t stay open which was a pain as they would close as soon as you opened them. Very old room with a tiny bathroom.

A bit tired it lacked adequate cooling in the bedroom and decor was a bit dated. The lift whilst functioning was rather dated and not the easiest to use when loaded with luggage

Staff were friendly and helpful and the location for the station excellent. The rear facing bedroom was quiet. Breakfast was fine. Good value.

No view for our room but it is ok as we treat it to be a place for sleeping mainly. Also no iron and ironing board can be borrowed.

I was satisfied with everything and have no complaints.

Great location being across the street from the main station. The main shopping street is two blocks away and the opera is a short walk across a park. The hotel is comfortable and the staff helpful. The breakfast has a good choice of food on offer and is served in a large room - no problem getting a table. The room was quite large and was quiet thanks to the double glazed windows - open the window and you will appreciate the difference! There is no air conditioning but a fan is in the room. I stayed in summer so I put the fan on the floor and left it on all night, enabling a good nights sleep each night.

I can't think of anything I didn't like.

The location is excellent, close to main shopping street, across the road from the main station and near the opera house. The double glazed windows made sure the traffic noise was eliminated and the addition of a fan in the room meant that a decent night's sleep was possible in summer. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast had a good selection of food to start the day. The room was very clean and the shower had hot water each time I used it.

Only one remark regarding the absence of the frigo-bar and the air conditioning in the room.

The staff, available for any need and the position very close to the railway station. Particular positive reference to the room cleaner since she ran out from the hotel to give me the mobile phone charger I had forgotten in the room, really appreciated.

Watch out for the extra glass door when exiting the elevator!

Convenient location opposite the Central Railway Station, great value. Due to the double windows my room was completely quiet despite facing a very busy and noisy street. I had such a good night’s sleep! The room was small and basic but sensibly appointed with a writing surface and plenty of lighting. And the bed was very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was good. Happy with my choice to stay at Hotel Rieker.

Good place to stop for one night. We were passing through in the summer. There is no air conditioning in the room. It was very stuffy. This is perhaps the only negative.
