We had a room with balcony, which is not separated from other rooms. So we did not use it. The room is cosy but we could hear everyone in the hallway. Cleaning was done once in a 4 day stay.

The location is amazing, with parking in front of the hotel and nature all around. Amazing breakfast!

I somehow expected an 'apartment' from when I booked - with some basic kitchen set-up. In such a big room, and being out of town, this would have been really useful. There was a small coffee machine, but no kettle or means to make any other food/drink. There were toasters in the basement which I guess could be borrowed. There was no WiFi in the room . I thought it was supposed to be accessible downstairs but we couldn't get any connection there either. This was quite disappointing and unusual these days. The stair carpet was a bit shabby - I guess this was next in what appeared to be a major upgrade to the whole building. I'd say Get the WiFi sorted too. There was a terrace outside, but we couldn't find any way to access it - it would have been nice to sit outside as there were no armchairs/sofa in our room. Similarly, there's no lounge area like you get in most hotels (some rooms seem to have their own balcony.) It was a bit odd not being staffed, but the check-in and key-coding all worked fine.

The room was super - all newly refurbished, spotlessly clean, spacious, new bed/bedding, 3 (new) wardrobes - we had an attic room, up quite steep steps which were fine for us, but could be a problem for others. Bathroom huge, very clean. The breakfast was good and the only member of staff we saw was helpful and smiling. The views all around were stunning - it's about 3km from Titisee, just off the main road (traffic could be heard from our room.) I noticed a sign saying rooms wouldn't be tended during the stay unless you specifically requested it, but our room was serviced after 2 days. There was a washing machine for shared use in the basement, and a fabulous sauna which we used. There is also a newly equipped gym (didn't use this.) It was an unusual setup, being unstaffed. There were cold drinks and snacks for sale in the lobby on an 'honesty' basis.

Bathroom / shower was a bit strange, as was the overall decor.

Checkin process was easy, contact with Stuub was smooth. Provided dog bowls and treats for us too. Breakfast was very good too, and there’s great access for walking and biking. Nice gym. Super good value for money.

The trash was not removed from the room and the toilet. And there weren’t extra plastic bags to replace in the can.

+ Although no staff are on-site for the check-in process, where we experienced an issue with the card and gaining access to our room at 10-11pm at night, we called the service number and the lady was lovely to resolve the issue for us ASAP. Their seemed to be a technical issue due to internet connectivity but with a bit of a "walk through" over the phone, no worries :)

+ Lovely spot as a base for many hiking trails around the area, whether directly from the door or within 15-20mins drive. + Breakfast offered a lot of variety with fruits, cereals, cold meats and scrambled eggs...not to mention waffles as well :) + Room was quite spacious and the balcony was a blessing in the afternoon/evening after a long day hiking to relax. + Plenty of parking spots with the amount of guests staying at the property, whether directly outside or along the street.

Room 0001: The room was very small - not a big deal and not really surprising considering the cost. The part I did not care for was the bathroom door, which barely opened since the heater is right there. Perhaps some creative thinking could improve the situation.

Check in / out process was easy and well thought out. We used the spa, which was very clean and comfortable (love the chairs). Breakfast was wonderful - fresh food, good selection, very friendly and attentive starr.

However, the cleanliness in our room could be improved. Once we entered the room we found dead flies on the floor.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would stay again. Our favourite parts were the fast self check-in, breakfast (good food and ambience) and the comfortable bed. We did not use the gym or sauna, but they looked quite new. We came to visit the Ravennaschlucht Weihnachtsmarkt and it was in good proximity.

While breakfast was quite good, the limited staff was challenged to keep up with demand at busy times. Parking at the facility was relatively limited, though street parking nearby was reasonably accessible.

We came for the Christmas market at Ravenna Gorge; great location! Easy access into downtown Hinterzarten. Excellent communication regarding self check-in, facility access.

At night you must close windows or insects get in even with the curtains closed.

Room was clean, well appointed and comfortable. It had a balcony with great views. The hotel had nice garden areas.

The room didn’t have a ventilator or AC, the last couple of days it was 30 degrees outside and inside it got quite hot as well.

The location was great, close to town center of zhinterzarten and the main road but far away enough not to be bothered by the noise of the road. Furthermore, the balcony was really nice.

Very easy to check in and very clean. We sat and had breakfast in the sunroom overlooking the forest. We were given extra coffee and felt very comfortable. Great stay for the price and would gladly go back!

Traffic from the Main-road. Sauna worked only one day :(

Good value for money. Self check in worked perfectly. Nice Sauna. Good rooms with Balcony. Great start for a bicycle tour around lakes.
