Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

I should have done a bit more research, though it was a nice stay, personally would like my own washroom then sharing. However, this was my 1st Hostel experience. Everything was okay but wouldn’t do it again

I just didn't like the guy at the reception. He was kind of rude in his answers, even if we were polite and didn't mean any harm. We asked about the heater and he sneered at us saying it wasn't even cold for that. Well, for locals maybe it isn't but for tourists, yeah, it is. It would have been enough to just say that they were saving up because of the increasing costs and that they would spend a lot for the whole hostel, but he had to make this comment first. We were just asking to make sure. So yeah, he was unfriendly and unpolite. The hostel was good but this guy.
It is the cheapest and it's worth it. The location is also good. The beds were comfortable and the shower was great.

The lockers are quite small and every locker in my room was full when I arrived so I just used my luggage as a locker. A curtain for the bunk beds would be good.
The common areas are wonderful and I love the location. Very close to two subway stations. Amazing for a short stay. Kind employees.

The room was a little small, when everyone was in our 6 person room at once it felt a little cramped
The space itself is very cool. The location is surrounded by historical landmarks which was awesome. The s-bahn station is just 3 minutes down the street making which was super convenient. I didnt interact much with the staff but when I did they were lovely. There is breakfast on site for 8 euros and its surrounded by grocery stores making easy to pick up your own food. Everything was pretty clean, we saw the cleaners every day. Beds were pretty comfortable as well.

I had a big suitcase and I asked to place it somewhere else, as there wasn't enough room near the reception. The staff offered me to put it in the cellar. It was very difficult to go downstairs and then to pick it up again. They didn't offer me any help. They just said to close the door after I am done. Ok, maybe it wasn't their responsibility to help me, but that attitude made my experience terrible.
The location of the hostel is great. Potsdamer platz is 14 minutes walking distance. The atmosphere was good in general and the rooms were clean.

The reception/bar/hall area is already something. quite a large space with an extremely high ceiling. Amazingly decorated and with cosy corners to read/work or relax and eat/drink alone or with other guests. There is a very nice area outside as well to hang out. The bar is affordable and the staff is super friendly. The overall atmosphere is very good. The hostel is near to the Tempodrom, and not far from Postdamer Platz or Check Point Charlie. It also has 2 convenience stores literally at 50 meters.

The hostel was full of several big groups of teenagers, who were running around, banging doors, and singing at 8am. This had quite a negative impact on the overall quality of the stay. This is of course not directly the fault of the hostel, but if there is a policy to take school groups etc some house rules should be made clear/enforced.
Price-quality ratio alright, the beds in the shared rooms comfy and the big common room is cozy.

Can’t think of any negatives. Staff could have been a bit friendly/ more welcoming but that’s minor. Also finding my room was a bit complicated, but not too bad.
Great location. Close to historic sites like Checkpoint Charlie, Topographie des terrors, etc. Lively commons era.

For the instaled mechanisms, the doors are quite heavy and difficult to open
