Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Kind of a dull neighborhood, but good public transport elsewhere

The room was very spacious, very comfortable, tastefully decorated. Easy and safe access to the property. Easy walk to the old town and UBahn..The shared bathroom was very spacious, well equipped, very clean... felt like home. Great hosts. Highly commended.

The place is a quiet private house run by a cute couple who live there. They are very hospitable and responsive. Check-in is by code. The place is a 4 minutes walk to tram station that takes to city center in less than 10 minutes. Nice kitchen, I was allocated some place in the fridge, also used the hi-tech kettle. Bathroom is clean.

Lovely place and lovely hosts. The bed in the green room was very comfortable. Clean and spacious bathroom, and nice coffee too. Very quiet, being almost hidden in a backcourt of some buildings. Location is very good - some 10-15 minute walking from the main station, or about 5 with public transport.

The place had a very personal feel. The interior decor of the room and the bathroom were very sweetly done. The resources provided were very helpful. The booking, check-in and checkout was all very simple and convenient. I highly recommend this stay!

One bathroom for the whole house is not enough when it's fully booked.
Completely air-conditioned , clean and tidy room in a very modern equipped house. Smart setup of entry codes so check-in is easy. Suitability of the location depending on what you want/need.

The room is located on the ground floor, but it was not an issue for me.
The place is very nice and quiet. It is located within a walking distance from the city centre and old town. The hosts are nice and friendly. The room was comfortable, well lit and spacious. Good value for money.

there was no such a thing. I loved it there
i did. everything was great, clean and smelled really nice! i really appreciated very smooth and kind communication. as a solo traveler on get away trip from everyday noise and too many people I really enjoyed communication through app and Quiet neighbourhood. The room temperature was quite high but we opened the window during our stay and that helped.

The bed was made of memory foam, and these beds are very warm. I prefer to sleep colder, so I had to cover myself lightly and completely turn off the heating. Memory foam is bad selection for me, but I know many people who prefer it.
The toilet is shared, but everything, including room and the toilet is clean and well maintained. Tobias is very helpful (e.g. he printed the plane ticket for me, which is a big deal).
