Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SpainThe bed linen is so messy, it keeps coming out. The room is not very well cleaned. Staff didn't answer was requests helpfully. In the afternoon downstairs is a bar more than a common area. There is no way to warm up or cook food.
It has very good location within a short distances to many touristic spots, restaurants, shops, parks...

IrelandToilet in the room was really tiny.
Staff was really friendly, check-in, and check out went smoothly. Location is great, walking distance from most places you'd like to visit and also good offer for food/restaurants around the area. Having a supermarket just across the street is very handy if you travelling on a budget 😀

AustraliaIt doesn’t have a hostel vibe, too big restaurant with most of the people from outside of the hostel (workers mostly). Even hard to get a table without booking, specially for the games.

CroatiaWhen we arrived we were assigned used beds. The receptionist handled it very professionaly and assigned us other beds. The shower in the room smelled, so we used the one available to all the guests.
The location was excellent. There is an aldi and kebab nearby, it was easy to explore the city of Copenhagen. The hostel restaurant allowed (or at least the staff didn't object to) bringing in our own food which was nice.

United KingdomIt was advertised that there would be USB ports in the bedrooms but there was only a plug outlet so you can't use your charger unless you have a danish plug.
The location is in great walking distance to most things and right by a supermarket which is very convenient. The lobby has a great vibe and the restaurant is super nice.

United KingdomOther guests were not very respectful as there were people returning to the hostel during the night and making lots of noise whilst others were sleeping. Children could be heard running up and down the corridors during the early hours of the morning.
The location of the hostel was great with easy walking access to some destinations and links to near by metro stations. The staff were helpful and friendly and the hostel was lovely and clean and good facilities.

HungaryIt's not the accommodation's fault, but my roommates were terrible. They arrived at dawn and each girl started to wash and dry her hair. (their hair was blow-dried in the bedroom area) The big lamp was on all the time, even though there were night lights by the beds as well.. they had no regard for the other person, they were very noisy, you couldn't sleep because of them.
The accommodation was in the city center and all sights could be reached on foot. There were plenty of supermarkets nearby. Staff were kind and room was very clean. The bed was comfortable.

Irelandwell, it’s a huge place. I feel it’s like a travelodge for young travelers. In a way, Generator hostels are a bit the moon; it is neat and shiny, but you know, it has no atmosphere. And a hostel without a kitchen or even a kettle in Copenhagen is almost a crime.
it’s nice, clean and has a big bar.

PortugalOn one of the nights, a party at the hostel went well into 2am. I understand this is part of the Generator culture, and I think it is great they boast a fun atmosphere. But, I have to admit I did not sleep at all because of it. You can clearly hear the music and talk in the rooms. So, I would keep this in mind in case you are looking for a place to rest. You can get breakfast at the hostel, but there are not many options. The room was not particularly clean, the blankets in the bed were stained, and it lacked storage.
The location is excellent. You are a short walk away from Nyhavn, Rosenborg, and Strøget. You can find the metro, trains, and buses nearby. Plenty of shopping options around in case you need to buy anything. It is very tough to beat this value for money in Copenhagen. The rooms are spacious, especially the bathroom.

NetherlandsWhat they don't mention is that towels, soap and other sanitary goods are optional and not included in the price. So, when you see "private bathroom" in your room don't get too excited.
