Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Nothing to dislike other than it could do with a tidy up outside. a lick of paint wouldn't go amiss.
Was a great place to explore the west side of Denmark especially if you are into History - Great place to visit Jutland and the Sea War Museum - there is a lot of recent history on the Jutland coast that we should all learn from.

The breakfast restaurant struggled sometimes with the number of guests.
Larger than average rooms with nice (!) chairs. Makes it more fit for a longer stay.

It would have been handy to have instructions on accessing the parking sent in advance.
Friendly reception and secure parking. The room was very hot - they'd left the curtains open on a very sunny day in a room with large windows. Thankfully it had a balcony and a door I was able to leave open until the room cooled down.

This is very comfortable hotel that offers excellent value for the price in this high priced country. The staff was friendly, the room was nicely appointed. The hotel is in an excellent location. It is at a busy street, but the rooms are in the back and very quiet.

There where only towels for 2 people in a 4 people room. I had expected a higher quality breakfast for this kind of hotel.

I was very dissapointed to see that the Sauna was still not functioning!! I really appreciate the small gym, and I will be coming to Aalborg regularly, and a Sauna in the evenings would just be perfect! I really hope it will be in order within the next few months. Maybe most clients do not ask for Sauna, and this may not be a priority for the hotel. but since you have a sauna i think it should be fucntioning. Other than that, great stay as always.

Parking at the hotel is very expensive. They charged me 110DKK a day. It's cheaper to park outside especially if you are not leaving your car there all day.
Room was fine, but the bathroom was a little small.

I would appreciate an upgraded bathroom to match the nice room and colors. The shower could absolutely be improved.
Very nice stay at Helnan Phønix Hotel. I really liked the renovated touch together with details from the past. Color choices were nice and soothing. The parking facilities are great and location in town is perfect!

The noise was INSANE !!! Until 4:00am people were pounding doors and windows and shouting - we barely slept. Also, we asked for a double bed and we got twin beds which apparently was 'what booking.com means by large bed' as they told us at the reception ... Not very Covid safe, but safe enough. No view at all from the room (only the window across) but much like so that was fine.
The location is pretty amazing! At the other corner of the popular Friends café !!! The room was pretty great, all new ! The breakfast was also awesome! Nice terrace for smokers also!

My only slight disappointment was that there was no tea and coffee in the room. There was tea and coffee available in the main reception, but given we were on the 5th floor it was a little far to go!! However I didn't ask about it, and it is very possible that if I had asked, then it may have been provided. We got by without.
It was easy to book, with no hidden prices and free cancellation. Staff were helpful and polite, and breakfast was excellent. The room was clean and well ventilated. Staff warned us about some nearby noisy roadworks but we never heard a thing.

I was a little bit disappointed with the breakfast this time. I have used the hotel some times in previous years and recall breakfast to have a wider varity especially on warm meals.
