Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Czech RepublicMaybe the washing machine for guests in property would be nice, if you do hiking, you definitely need it in Dominica :) Also some tea&coffee kettle in the room would be useful.
The location is great - close to the waterfalls and other activities. Our cottage was nice, nest in lush nature, was quit and tranqui place, ideal for relax and chill. We especially loved a hammock before cottage. You have shared kitchen and fridge. Staff is also nice. We would stay again, we had a wonderful time here.

BulgariaThere was no door of the bathroom which was a bit strange and uncomfortable.
It's a great place if you want to stay in a typical cottage surrounded by the lovely nature of Dominica. The hosts and the employees are super kind and helpful. It was definitely good experience to be in a place like this and I would visit it again. It is situated on a main road so it is easily accessible by car.

United StatesCocoa Cottage was perfect for us. We were in the “Fou Fou” room with open air slats. Good ventilation. We loved hearing the sounds of the rain forest all night. Staff were the most polite and helpful we’ve ever encountered.

Czech RepublicOur stay in Cocoa cottage was just amazing. Lovely cottages in the middle of the rainforest, close to the Dominica's highlights, beautiful wiews from the terrace and very kind ownwers and also the staff. Before our comming we were a little bit affraid of the noises from the rainforest and from mosquitos, but there was no problem wit it and the noises from the rainforest we have just loved - it was so relaxing and in the touch with the nature. We also very appreciated the dinners - made by local cookers in the open kitchen and all the guests had the dinner together arround one big table. So you can meet a new interesting people from different places of the world, tolk to them and have a very interesting evenings with them. Also our two sons (12, 17) loved the stay in Cocoa cottage and enjoyed hollyday full of adventur in Dominica. I highly reccomad this place for those, who prefer nature, original and local stay to five stare hotels "without the soul"...

United StatesOur stay was amazing! We were there for 4 nights, and we loved every part of it. The staff was wonderful. We had breakfast and dinner there almost every day, and we were so impressed. Everything was local and delicious. The property is conveniently located close to Titou Gorge and many amazing waterfalls. Highly recommend!

United StatesThe cost of the accommodation overall is 2x the cost of what it should be for what it is, and the breakfast is outrageously overpriced for simple eggs, bread, and fruit.
The grounds were beautiful, and the staff is absolutely amazing. Dinners are phenomenal, homemade style that varied each day.

United KingdomBed was not very comfortable so we slept at the other end - much better. Room was quite small. Would be nice to have an outdoor seating area other than the veranda we had.
Great location. Attentive and helpful staff and owners. We had breakfast and evening meal on site to taste real Dominica - very good.

United StatesMy only complaint is that the mosquito net around the bed was pretty thick and blocked the breeze from the fan/outside. We found ourselves deciding if we wanted to be hot or bitten by bugs each night.
Great location close to several hikes/waterfalls. Delicious food and nice rooms. The woman who made breakfast was the best. She was so nice and really made you feel at home. It wasn't the same experience at dinner, but she definitely made up for it!

United KingdomPizza night was a bit a of a let down. Handmade to order by a lovely Italian lady but took forever being made and cooked one at a time. The resulting pizza was disappointing.
Excellent location. Sleeping with the sound of the forest, magical. Lovely breakfast whilst watching humming birds feeding. Owners very sociable.

CanadaOwners were very friendly and helpful with tips on how to enjoy our time on the island. The facility had a common eating and lounge area which brought guests together for meals and gave us a chance to get to know each other and share travel tips. The property is surrounded by lush tropical vegetation and has lovely artistic elements everywhere you look. The resident cats were friendly and the meals (bfast and dinner) were simply, tasty and good value. The location is excellent for exploring the natural beauty of the south part of the island.

Above all, the staff are the heart and soul of this delightful guest house and made the experience as smooth and as memorable as possible, which I deeply appreciate. United KingdomThe welcome was a bit “meh”, not very clear. There was no housekeeping during the 4 days we were there- bins not emptied or towels not changed- not that we necessarily needed new towels, but would have been nice to know. Also no one cleaning the room- the shower area accumulated lots of sand and this was not draining. However the main disappointment / frustration was the noise, from 7am onwards, cars are honking right outside the room, because the road is there and there is a huge curve (they are honking for safety to warn other cars they are turning)…. This woke us up every morning. Additionally to this, almost every morning we were there, workers were going past the property non stop with sand bags or cement or something, making lots of noise and talking. It would have been nice to be told in advance there were going to be some works done just next to the “private” room…
Really beautiful location amidst tropical jungle and little river. We were in the Fou Fou room. Great location near Roseau and near Trafalgar falls and Titou Gorge / Boiling Lake hike. Next door to Extreme Dominica (canyoning). The owners send you a welcoming guidebook with lots of info on things to do in the area, restaurants, guide numbers, rental car companies etc. Very helpful. The room itself is spacious and comfortable, good mosquito net, and good little terrace where you can enjoy and relax. We had dinner there one night and, although a bit pricey (25 USD per person), was very yummy and filling.

SwedenIt is in the rainforest so there will be rain, and it will be humid. There was a fan in the room so it wasn't too bad to live in, just difficult to get stuff to dry. The Cottage also had a tin roof, which makes a lot of sound when it rains. It took a night to get accustomed to all the sounds but the it was just cosy. (Except the honking from the road)
Amazing location in the rainforest! Close to most thing you wanna do in the valley. Cosy cotteges, good breakfast and pizza (we didn't try the regular dinner) and as clean as it can be in a humid rainforest. The best thing however was just to meet all the people, both the staff and other travellers! All staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful, and it was great to meet other travellers. We didn't have a car because with our original plan there was no need, but due to heavy rain we had to reschedule some things. However, every breakfast or dinner we met somebody friendly who gave us a ride or let us tag along for the day. During the pizza evenings a lot of interesting non-residents came and ate as well. Both locals and island-hopping sailors.
