United StatesAll the food was good except at the two main buffets near the main pool. Did not like how overwhelmed some of the staff seemed to be. There was only 1 ATM that I could find on the property so it was hard to tip.
The room was excellent, AC was awesome. Loved the private jacuzzi in jr suite. Public pools are clean and the beach is easily accessible. Loved the theatre and entertainment.

I made a reservation (4627878239 ), for my son and my daughter-in-law, who got married and wanted to spend their honeymoon at Barcelo, and it happened to me that they would have some amenities for this date. And to our surprise when we got home today we had the dissatisfaction of knowing that they didn't do anything they had promised. Because it was a unique celebration, there was a feeling of frustration because I organized everything with the reservations sector and nothing happened. Receive a cordial greeting from Barceló Bávaro Palace, especially from our Public Relations Department. United StatesThe staff at the bars swim up bar and the poolside is very rude and racist to black Americans. The food wasn't good at all and the steak house staff was very rude and they served us all uncooked food. I have never experienced something this before.

United StatesThe smell in the restaurants was hard to get used to. It smelled like sewer. The food was inconsistent and we were worried about the time some of the food had been sitting on the buffets. We expressed concern over the TV in the room and no one ever came to check on it. The refrigerator in the room didn’t keep the drinks cold, and the staff seemed very stingy with washcloths and towels. Also, the language barrier was VERY challenging at times.
It was very pretty. The pool was nice, and the beach was pretty with the palm trees. Jordany, our bellman on the first day, was exceptional! Our room wasn’t ready after being told it was, and he bent over backwards to fix things for us and get us into a room.

United StatesMost of the staff were not inviting or welcoming. It was very hard to find staff that spoke English and when you did find them they were very unprofessional, whispering and laughing making guests feel uncomfortable. We tried to check into our first room that was already occupied by another couple. We were provided another room that was infested with termites. With no consideration of what we had experienced we were finally provided a third room with no accommodations or an apology. The food was very distasteful in both buffets and all the restaurants. This was very disappointing. We had to leave the resort to get a good meal. Last but not least we decided to pay any outstanding charges the day before checkout to ensure we would coordinate the timing with our taxi to get to the airport on time and of course that didn't happen. We were told that there were charges that were left out the day before. Another bummer and inconvenience. Needless to say we will NEVER visit this resort again and by the way happy 1st anniversary to us.
The resort itself is very beautiful. The beach has very little seaweed and the pools are amazing. The decor on the resort was also outstanding. The check in was a very smooth transition.
