A basic but fantastic hostel. Clean and comfortable. staff great and plan told of activities to entertain in the evenings as area isn’t safe at night. food is superb and cheap. they help organise tours and give great advice on your Ecuador trip. hot shower and fast wifi. and the rooftop terrace has just been refurbished and is an awesome place to chill out with stunning views over Quito.

Their booking system did not seem to be super organized and my friend wound up having to sleep on an emergency bed in the hall her first night there even though I had confirmed her bed in the morning.

The food, value, location, front desk service, and activity offerings at night were all great! The roof also had a great view and was nice to enjoy (although it could maybe use some more loungey furniture). Everyone was super friendly which made the bar crawl very fun!

It was very loud until 11pm every night, which was quite irritating since we were jet-lagged and also had to wake up early for daily tours.

Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff! Spacious double room with a very comfy bed, lots of space for luggage & an amazing view. Free tea & coffee (24/7). Delicious breakfast every day (albeit a bit expensive).

The lockers weren’t very big (they were just draws). Also there’s only one option for breakfast and dinner each day

I was warned the neighborhood wasn’t that safe which made me not really venture out at night. I couldn’t find good food around but that’s okay because there is breakfast and dinner at the hostel every day. The neighborhood felt safe enough in the day. Plus, you’ll meet enough people to walk around town with. But I’d recommend you Uber places. I wouldn’t call it a ‘party’ hostel but people are social until 11 or so so it can be a bit loud if you’re on the main floor. I still 100% recommend staying here. Just bring some ear plugs.

By far the best hostel I’ve stayed in all my travels ( and this was my 14th country) You are instantly family when you arrive and the atmosphere and community is so kind and welcoming. I made a ton of friends who I still travel with and stay in contact with. The breakfasts each morning are fabulous and the dinners each night allow everyone to sit together and meet. They plan fun activities each night, like game night or salsa class. They also have a ton of tours that they help you organize and are so accommodating to your every need- from staying an extra night to having to leave early. They are helpful with everything. Also plenty of bathrooms. I could always find one. Please open more community hostels in other cities and countries!

Nothing, all fantastic.

I really enjoyed my stay here, and due to strikes in Ecuador I ended up staying for quite a long time. The staff are fantastic, and the atmosphere is very welcoming. Everyone went out of their way to help us and even put on extra activities to keep us entertained when it was dangerous to go out on the street. The food is fantastic, and the communal dinners in the evening are a great way to met other people. The best hostel I've stayed at by far. Thank you everyone!

Community Hostel is the best hostel I've stayed in so far. The staff is the sweetest, speaks great English and has a great energy. The hostel is super clean, the breakfast and dinner options delicious and always lots of activities. And the rooftop is fantastic for the weekly bonfires or if you need a quiet moment. It's also located right next to the central market and super close to the old town.

A bit uncomfortable beds.

It is a great, spacious hostel with lots of bathrooms, a communal kitchen, and a living room with hot water available to brew. The rooftop view is amazing. There is a free walking city tour. The staff is amazing.

The big dorm is far too small for 10 beds. The hostel might be an option for those seeking for party places, but the loud music is continuous and overwhelming until 11 pm.

The location of the hostel is not safe at night

The hostel is great. The rooftop is amazing. I love that they have a space to work and nice little hide aways to get some work done. They have a shared kitchen so you can make meals. It really does feel like home. I loved it

We did not feel safe in that area. The property does advise to not walk outside after 7pm.

It is a very noisy hostel.

The food was the star of the show, the top floor terrace has fantastic views over Quito. The staff is polite and helpful. The room was not what I was expecting, but it was comfortable, and it had enough space for our things. It was really nice to have a couple of enexpensive tours starting at the hostel. There is a really nice food market on the other side of the hostel.
