Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.

Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

There is absolutely nothing we dislike about this place. It was all great.
The place is located near the mountains, very quiet and clean. The rooms are comfortable and the food is great. It is a perfect location to go to cotopaxi national park. My friend and I loved everything in this hostel. It is so cute and rhetorical facilities are great.

The dog on the property needs to be better trained.
The lodge is fantastic and the staff provide an excellent level of service. Great value for the money. The common area is very nice and guests are consistently wonderful people. I also enjoyed the communal dinner. The staff will set you up with locally guided tours to Cotopaxi and local mountain guides for surrounding peaks (I highly recommend Javier and Jaime).

Javier was a super host! He made a great breakfast and 3 course dinner, was very friendly and went above and beyond with advice for different treks as he used to be a guide. Also, he would help with anything you need. We were a bit cold at night so he gave us a heater and a large blanket. The location is really close to the main highway so it's easy to get to and to go on day trips but you're far away enough in nature that you don't realize it. They have a nice kitchen and a nice common area with a fireplace. There wearnt many people so it's quieter, which for me was nice to have a small group vibe.

You had to be lucky to get a warm shower. There are several mangy dogs roaming the property. The staff do what they can, but it's still a sorry sight...
The young man who ran the place during our stay was exceptionel good at his job - friendly, accommodating and always busy keeping the house nice and the customers happy. Great location close to the Cotopaxi National park entrance. Comfortable heated room. The whole place was clean, neat and tidy. Fireplace in the common area helps create an cozy atmosphere in the evenings. The tour to Cotopaxi organised by the hostel is really good and if you are 3 people or more, it's the same price as you pay at the park - and the price even include lunch at a restaurant after the hike. The parking area isn't gated, but with the rural location it still feels secure.

The shower room was too cold for me and hot shower wasn’t very responsive.
The water tower was a great, unique feature. The food served was delicious. The pool table was a nice addition.

The stuff is extremely friendly and helpful! You can book your tour to Cotopaxi here. Laundry service is possible. Breakfast and dinner really good! Parking lot available.

The location not super easy to reach, especially in late afternoon when it’s dark
Perfect hostel to visit the Cotopaxi. The girl at reception was very nice and helpful. Very good breakfast and the tour to the Cotopaxi, reserved directly on site, has been great!

We liked everything
Very cozy and authentic place! Food in the evening is really good, the atmosphere is also great with other people traveling. We did some tours to cotopaxi with the hotel and it was all great!

I bit difficult to reach if you don't come by car. The dorm room was quite chilly at night because there was no heating option available and I was the only person in the room.
Amazingly comfortable common room. The breakfast and dinner (which I also bought) were amazing (muy rico), even for me as a vegetarian. Bathroom, bedroom and everything was clean. Great location a bit more in nature.

I had a great stay at Cuscungo. It's a very cosy place with a fireplace where you can hang out while you are not busy hiking or doing other activities. The staff (Javier) was incredibly accommodating, helping all the guests with their activities, going out of his way to make things possible and showing us the views of Cotopaxi through a lense on top of the viewing tower. It was a great familiar atmosphere with the other travellers and the food was amazing. Really enjoyed my time at Cuscungo.

Can be a bit noisy if you stay in the main house also a little cold.

The location is the best for cotopaxi but still far from everything!
It's a great place. it's closest place to visit cotopaxi base camp. there is a fireplace and the vibe is social. the room is great and my bed was wonderful. The staff are wonderful and they can arrange you how to get to cotopaxi by tour or a taxi.
