Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe floor was not very clean, more than a few hairs on the floor and in the corners. They were starting heavy duty construction inside the hotel just feet away from the room at 8am every morning. Things happen I get it. Very small windows which only looked into another hallway so I couldn't have the curtains open and zero natural light. The room was the coldest out of several i stayed in in Quito, felt like a fridge. The blankets had to be doubled up to stay warm. Also the shower was only warm, not nice and hot. One night the silly electronic safe started beeping uncontrollably(I never touched it the entire trip) I had to get up get dressed and go to the lobby, they had to remove the battery from the safe to stop the loud beeping. Things happen, but that at 2am coupled with the construction and the cold, all of the things together made it difficult to get a good rest, I left feeling exhausted. The price was heavily discounted and now I know why.
Quaint hotel for a fair price. I liked the location, be aware this is only accessible by stairs, there is no way to pull a car up, so if you have a lot of luggage or issues with stairs it may not be for you. I enjoyed the location, there are many nice restaurants nearby, I recommend Uku Pacha only feet away for an amazing experience of Ecuadorian food! The lobby is pretty, and the staff is very helpful. They have a cooler with drinks for sale if you don't want to venture up and down the stairs. Overall for the price it was pretty good.

CanadaEven though Booking states that Hotel David accepts Visa/MC, they insisted that I would have to pay 26% extra if I paid with CC. This is a scam and not acceptable. I was low on cash and was forced to go to an ATM and pay the service charge. At least the ATM charge was much lower than Hotel David. Do NOT book this hotel if you have mobility problems. There are many stairs from the street to the hotel and then many stairs within the hotel. No heat or A/C in the room but it was not needed when I was there.
The room was good for a few days. The bead was great. Breakfast was on the top floor and included juice, coffee, eggs, croissant. The staff spoke English well enough to help me with questions when required.

CanadaSize of the room
The people are really nice and helpful. When I felt cold they provided extra blankets. They have a delicious breakfast. They have laundry service which is very affordable and done fast. I booked the room for my spouse and I for two night at $18 a night however the picture shows a decent size room on the ad but when we arrived we were put in the tiniest room ( A bed in a broom closet; Great for a single traveler but not comfortable for a couple ). Now the hotel was pretty empty they could have easily upgraded us but that was going to be for an extra fee at $30 a night. . The next few nights we booked with the Hostel Marcela just above Hotel David for $22 with a large room and private bathroom.

United KingdomI didn't like getting ripped off. When I arrived at the hotel and booked in, I paid with a card, they explained there was a fee for using a card, I didn't expect 20%. This is outrageous. It was not a good start to the holiday. ( my advice to anyone thinking about paying by card, as you enter the road where the hotel is, there is a supermarket with a cash machine, go there first) The stairs could be a problem for elderly people or people with health issues.
It was cheap and close to the metro

RomaniaThe room we booked was not in Hotel David. We went to the other hotel where they said and they gave us a bigger room, but still not like the photo on booking. Next day we asked to see a balcony room that you could book , but, guess what? That room was in another hotel, more expensive. I would not stay here again because you do not receive what you pay for.!
The breakfast was ok. There was hot water. Close to the center.

United KingdomThe shower was difficult - it took a while to warm up properly. The location was good, but it could be slightly better as it wasn't close to anything. It is close to a Metro station, which worked well for us. But for some who don't like public transport, you might want something closer to downtown.
The staff were excellent - they were friendly and provided lots of information about the area, the city, and attractions. They also provided good, detailed information about available tours. The room itself was great - big bed, plenty of space, and a sizeable bathroom. The breakfast was also good and the staff were helpful, providing extra food for me to take back to the room for my partner All great, especially considering the fantastic price!

United StatesIt’s a bit noisy with creaky interior stairs and courtyard facing windows.
The owners were very helpful carrying heavy suitcases upstairs for us. They provided free maps of the city and spent time telling us how to stay safe. The property provides a safe transport to and from the airport.

United StatesThe location was perfect as the metro is around the corner which will take you to different areas around the historic center. There was also a supermarket and restaurants nearby. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The manager went above and beyond when our Uber driver canceled our ride, he himself took us to our destination. I definitely recommend staying here, the facilities were clean and the breakfast was good.
