Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThere are a lot of steps but staff helped with this as well
Our Ecuador adventure began in Quito at Hotel David. Everyone working here is exceptional and go far beyond expectations for customer service. They helped provide available and reliable transportation from airport and around the city. Our room was spacious with a fabulous view of the mountains from our balcony. Breakfast was excellent and freshly prepared each day. Room was cleaned every day and was spotless. Our bed was comfortable. We had a wonderful stay!

United StatesIt did quiet down, but there was some raucous shouting and talking rising from below. I'm not entirely sure if it was a guest or in some ways part of the staff, but either way it was a little ridiculous. Again, it did quiet down a little past bedtime. It was a Saturday night.
We were only here for one night and left very early. Interesting building. Lots of cool stairs outside and inside. Bed was pretty comfortable and the shower was hot. Staff booked us a cab for the morning and got us utensils since we went with take out.

United StatesI had 3 reservations on this hotel in my vacation in Ecuador. When I checked in for my initial stay, my reservation was only for $40-plus and I casually tried to pay with my credit card. The receptionist named Luis refused to accept my credit card. He told me that according to Ecuador law the hotel is prohibited from processing a credit card payment unless it is at least $50. As a frequent world traveler, I found carrying cash to pay for hotels odd. And as a lawyer, I asked him to cite me the law he is talking about. But he tried to put the burden on me to disprove his claim in a senseless argumentative manner. I told him that for him to make up something deserves a negative review of the hotel if there is no such law. He said I can write any review of the hotel I want. He didn't care. He said it would not matter because the hotel has more than a thousand positive reviews. So, instead of paying for just one of my multiple reservations, I just decided and was permitted to pay for my other 2 reservations, which all in all totaled more than $50. But thereafter, I asked other hotels about the "$50 minimum law". There is no such thing! In fact, during my stay in Ecuador, I used my credit card for purchases of less than $50 many times. And I had no problem with it. Simply put, Luis was just being dishonest and doesn't care about customer service.

Canadathe pictures are what sold me. unfortunately, most rooms do not look like that. Extremely small. After 2 nights, they switched room, which I had to pay extra. I was ok with paying. The noise at night: that place is open 24 hours a day, and people are coming and going all the time. There doesn’t seem to be a manager at night to control the situation. Dogs barking inside the hotel, people talking on their phone in front of your room. I did not sleep much, always being awakened.
The staff! Very helpful, polite and smiling.

United StatesI was deceived by the high ranking: this place is more of a hostel than a hotel. It’s loud and smells moldy. I got an inside room with no window, even though there were exterior rooms available. if you decide to stay here, request a window for some fresh air.
Breakfast was pretty good.
