Not much of a social vibe but the positives far outweigh this

It's a really pleasant hostel very well located. The staff are kind and approachable. Beds are great, some of the best dorm beds you will find at an excellent price, curtains, storage and a spacious enough room. Very near cafes, restaurants and the nightlife. Great coffee in the shop opposite too. Definitely recommend staying here.

I was the only person that wasn’t staff/volunteer whilst there, so there was no social atmosphere. Staff took over the fridge/kitchen and TV room most times for themselves so it felt a little awkward trying to make anything for myself.

Nice beds in dorm and very cozy feel throughout with nice decor, clean, lots of space. Big place and has a decent rooftop. Central old town location close to everything but still on a quiet street.

We were there over new years so it was very noisy. Sound travels throughout the hostel and also from the street outside. I slept well with earplugs, otherwise I would have been up all night. Bring earplugs.

This is a wonderful hostel, in a great location, and run by really caring and lovely people. It is spotlessly clean, and anything we needed was attended to right away.

Nothing wrong with the hostel but it was just very quiet, I think we were the only ones there that weren't working. It might have also been because we were in low season. Also you couldn't get in without the staff letting you in, they were very nice but sometimes they were doing their own things.

The location was excellent to have easy access to the town. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were spacious. The showers had amazing pressure and the water got very hot. They have a cool rooftop area as well. And one of the receptionists helped us book our mini bus to Guayaquil which was very helpful, and they were very quick to respond on WhatsApp.

On my first night, I could hear karaoke going on at one of the local bars until 2am.

Great WiFi! The dorm is also super dark at night, so perfect for a great night sleep. Everything was super clean and the showers were fantastic

The walls and floors are maybe a bit thin, but since the area is extremely quiet, it didn’t bother us. Also you have to be let in and out of the property by the staff.

The four volunteers that worked there when we visited in Sep22 were amazing and so friendly! Cheap breakfast every morning and super comfortable rooms on a great location that is surprisingly quiet!! Amazing rain-drop shower. Excellent value for money!

The location is also a minus, because of a terrible noices from the street, you feel like having a party around your bed all night long. The windows limits zero noice :-(. What was also a minus for me as a foreign traveller who doesn’t know Spanish, that most of the volunteers at the reception do not know a word in English. They do not also know nothing about main touristic activities (Ingapirca, NP Cajas..), traveller cannot get any advice how to get there etc. It is a hostel and I expected all these info and help with arrangements as it’s a standard for every hostel I’ve been to. But they knew zero. Although they were trying and some of them (not all) were super nice, yet not very helpful :-( Even call a taxi was a problem and I had to rush to main street and wave. There are applications for calling taxi everywhere, so easy. Another tricky point is, that in between 3-7am you cannot get in&out of hostel, I needed to get to a bus 7am and it was an issue, luckily Marco (who was also the only one speaking English) was so kind and woke up to let me out, but according the hostel schedule, he didn’t have to do that. Another point was cleaning, I stayed 3 nights, which is quite enough for no change of the trash in WC, toilett paper comes to it and after a while, it’s not very convenient to smell it from an open WC trash. This should be done by staff every single day. 3rd day, I had to bring it to reception and ask for a new trash bag and also toilet paper. They do not check the rooms, if everything is ok. I did not need the proper cleaning and changing towels, but just these 2 little things would do a major difference. If I knew, I would never book a stay in this place. I travel a lot and this never happened to me anywhere else. Hope you could change at least the service, I guess that changing the windows is not so easy and move hotel to some quiet place is also impssible :-) But the rest is definitely doable. Wish you sincerely good luck and more happy customers.

Hostel was super nice and stylish, beds and sheets are very comfortable. The locality is downtown, so easy to access main historical centre.

There was a lot of noise on the Monday morning, from the pipes, guests and the street outside which severely disrupted our sleep. This effected our overall experience

The first night we were in a room with 5 beds, awesome but placed weird. In the first area the window didnt have a curtain and the second area was only seperated by a door. So, ór you sleep in daylight from 5/6 am ór you sleep in a place without fresh air (no window) and with bad luck the tv from the neighbours until 12 and from 6.30 am. Its right next to a bar that plays music until 02.00. The building is beautifull old, pretty but you could hear every step. The beds were rough, quite hard with poor pillows. The kitchen was dirty and in those 3 days hardly cleaned, the trashcan wasnt emptied and nothing to dry your dishes. The rooms were not cleaned. All in all.. not to happy.

The shower had good waterpressure.
