Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

EstoniaIf you wanna do laundry, they are going to charge 7 €, which is a bit expensive. Also, I can hear people cooking or walking in the corridor due to the thin walls. However, the guests and staff are quite respectful, so it doesn't bother me too much.
All the staff are very nice and helpful, especially the cleaning lady who, despite not really speaking English, would use Google Translate to let me know she was going to clean my room. She is also very nice and gentle. Luckily, during my stay, I was the only guest in this room. The room is quite clean, and everything you need is provided, such as bedding and towels. The kitchen is clean and well-organized.

United StatesThey charge more for women's dorm than men's dorm and there is no cheaper mixed room option to stay if you are a woman. The price difference isn't huge but its still bothersome because the accommodations are described as the same. The location is a bit out of the way but you can take the trolley (about 3 blocks away) and it goes directly to Old Town.
Roomy and clean with sparkling white bed linen. 24 hour receptionist downstairs was a huge plus. Spacious eating hall/kitchen. Lockers with key in rooms for your personal items. The cleaning lady did a good job of keeping everything very tidy. Quiet location in the suburbs. This is a large hostel reminiscent of a hotel on 4 floors. Very good value.

RussiaBunkbeds are too noisy. Bathrooms always too cold due to permanently open windows. Need to walk a lot to get to the hostel, from any bus stop. Showers don't have good temperature regulation, i was always burning myself with water. Very limited items to cook

FinlandThe ovens were not in use and the stove didn't work - quite annoying as we had brought our own dinner to prepare. Luckily we managed with a microwave. I didn't see a single glass/cup in the kitchen during my stay, in the end I had to take a couple of plastic cups from the water container in the lobby to be able to drink.
A decent place for one night we stayed there. Everything was clean and beds comfortable. Even though the walls seemed thin it was very quiet during the night. There are several showers and toilets and we never had to queue. Free parking available.

FinlandThe walls were quite thin so we could hear everything from other rooms. But I don’t think that other customers shoud be the reason for a poor rating.

United KingdomLack of shelving//hooks/plugsat each bed(some did have), no cups. 1 night lamp would work wonders as the big light was bit much for nighttime. Perhaps provide cups in room, as communal kitchens had none left and I really fancied a coffee at that moment 😁
Very clean. 24h reception. No-nonsence/thrills. Spacious.

Estoniathere are for real quite thin walls, I was getting asleep at midnight and waking up in the morning by noises of people trying to have (doing?) sex, I was surprised by their endurance all windows go to the parking lot with a smoking place, even though it's quite far, some people had rather loud chatting outside till 1.30 am, so one might be ready to go down and ask to be quieter. I don't have problems with city noise, but this district is very calm, so any noise is sensitive. while sleeping with closed windows could be hard in such small rooms And yes, that quite hard to sleep in Tallinn near midsummer without proper curtains, it was a bit dark at 12, and already very bright from 4 am
what could be added to the price ~ expectation trade-off... yes, there is the smell of cleaning chemicals in the staircase, but it's fine, some guys tried to fry fish on the 4th floor for real, but all this is fine, in my room there was no smell, and there are windows to open one thing became obvious... the distance from the city center and maybe cultural things like being russian-speaking, but the main guests in my feeling were not tourism travelers, but men 45+, who have some business in Tallinn. All was good, nobody was drunk in my room on Saturday night and all were at their place already at midnight. It depends on you, but if you visit Tallinn for tourism, I suggest staying in the city center and not saving a little money. As a male, I felt safe and sound, but I can imagine my wife would not love this stay. And I like the tramway toward this place, and the closeness to the beach, ~20-minute walk, even though the water is deadly cold and very shallow for ~150 meters :)

LithuaniaCommon areas could be more modern and better laid out. It seems that the showers should be fixed properly. Some parts were broken and did not work as they should. The toilet seat does not sit in the correct position.
The room was clean and tidy. The staff was pleasant and informative. The location is kinda weird but not too bad.

EstoniaThe toilet was not a private room but 4 stalls next to each other. The toilet and sink room needs updating. Not entirely clean but also not super dirty. No black out curtains and windows facing the sun in the morning so bring a sleeping mask. Kitchen could have used some more mugs and other utensils, pans were scraped.
Good for a one night stay, it was a dormitory building before. The room was clean. The window had a mosquito net. Bus stops to the city and other places were near the hostel. The bed was a spring mattress but it was still comfortable and not too worn out. Washroom was clean and private, hot water was under the "cold" switch.

EstoniaNo elevator! It's basically a workers dormitory or smth like that, so don't have high expectations. Never had any issues staying there though, cheap and convenient.
Value for money. Needed a place to stay for one night and it actually was more convenient than city center hotels because of free private parking (there's a large courtyard).

FinlandOur room was nice, but the floor had "holes" in it. Even though my dog does not destroy things like these it can be tempting to some dog or puppies. It isn't necessary a bad thing, just so some dog people know so they can be watchful.
People where nice and answered quite quickly to my questions. We came at night and got our room key soon and got to sleep long. Check out is to 12 and that was nice. Plus is that my dog was allowed too. Cost 10e/night, but we needed a place to sleep when our original plan failed. It was nice and cool in the room. Wasn't very noisy place and there was a big parking lot.
