Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

PolandIt’s a hostel in a good oldie style. 12€ per night in the old town of Tallin it’s an unbeatable price. This is also the very reason people who check in there, can vary… I was lucky since in the dorm I stayed all other guests were quiet and respectful (only half of the beds were occupied though). No loud conversations late in the evening, no talks over the phone, no drinking in the room… etc. There is a small lamp next to each bed. No curtains though. The stuff was nice and was able to accommodate my small request reg. bed. The cleaning staff was doing their job; they are trying to keep all rooms (especially bathrooms) clean & tidy. It’s not their fault some guests are behaving badly. Surprisingly calm and peaceful stay for me.

FinlandCould be more cleaner, expecially the kitchen. Thin walls and wooden floor, you can hear other guests talking and walking around the corridors - so I recommend earplugs!
Good central place. Staff was nice and helpful.

SloveniaThe toilet and shower on the reception floor (where our room was) is pretty useless, you can't even brush your teeth in privacy since there is no door between the sink area and the common room. They could easily install a door there. But the bathroom with lots of toilets and showers upstairs is ok.
It's great that now there is a possibilty of a good breakfast in the same building (it's new!). You can choose between a few good options/menus. The location of the hostel is perfect.

AustraliaIt’s obviously an old building in old town so comes with lots of sound from people outside your room. Be prepared for lots of stairs once you arrive! I managed fine, but could be an issue for those with large heavy luggage.
Best value for money! I had a room to myself for a very affordable price. Location is perfect for those like me utilising the ferry between Tallinn-Helsinki and visiting old town. Lots of food and supermarkets nearby. Shared bathroom (mixed gender) was clean, spacious and plenty of cubicles (toilets & showers) Storing luggage before check-in was a bonus!

SlovakiaI had to book an emergency accommodation late at night and it worked like a charm. The staff was very helpful and nice. The accommodation is in a pretty building just in front of the defense wall. Everything was clean. I couldn't really find anything to complain about. I was not excepting a luxury hotel but it was very nice.

GermanyThere is always to loud music at the reception. The hostel is not so clean. On my floor there was just one toilet, you have to go always to other floor. There is not so much space for clothes or bag if you have a bed up.
The location is really good and the price for the location is good. The kitchen has a lot of utensils to cook or to eat something.

United KingdomIt felt like it could do with a bit of updating. My charger at the bunk didn’t work, could do adding some shelf into the bunk bed to be able put stuff there (mobile, book etc)…there was no lockable storage near my bed for my backpack
Location was great, close to the town centre. Bed was comfortable. Showers and toilets were kept clean. Very friendly and helpful staff.

DenmarkEhm.. not sure.. . I think this place was very good for me.
The staff makes a very big different. They have staff and volunteers here, and it works fine. They have co-working space if you want to work here to. Very big kitchen with everything you need. Nice big commonroom where people hang out. And you live in the old city. Very central. I would absolutly live here again if I come back.

TurkeyRooms could have been more upgraded. There was missing outlets at top beds. There could have been jacket holder in the room, and bed frame could have designed to be more private. And I couldn’t really liked the bathroom area. Showers and toilets could have been in seperate areas

United KingdomThe walls were very thin. Throughout the early hours of the morning people were coming back drunk and you could hear them shouting, laughing and banging around on the floors above us and walls either sides of us. The cleanliness was okay but not amazing.
The location was perfect, everything was easy to walk to and close by. Plenty of local amenities such as shops etc and the staff were friendly and helpful. The duvets were nice and warm too despite the minus temperatures outside.

United KingdomBathrooms and kitchen are not very clean. Also, the bathrooms are shared gender which made me feel really uncomfortable. I also had to walk through the common area to get to the bathroom, and I hated going out in my pyjamas. Music is played 24/7, and although there is a sign to close the door between the corridors and common area, it was never closed (even by the staff) so it was loud. Only a slow USB charger by the beds, so difficult to charge phones. Showers had fluctuating temperatures of water. Pillows were yellow, and the bedding didn't seem clean. Sheets were not fitted and too small, so they come off during the night and you end up touching the dirty mattress. Could have used a curtain over the end of the bed too, as people just stare in at you. Overall, not bad, but a few issues could be resolved to make this an excellent hostel.
This hostel has an excellent location, right in the centre of the old town. Beds were comfortable and the showers were powerful. Room was kept at a nice temperature so it was comfortable even in the winter. Although this hostel has quiet a lot of flaws, it was still a nice place to stay and would recommend it.

United KingdomWhenever a neighbour closed their door, it made a massive bang and sounded as if someone was breaking into my room. Not particularly social (low season). Caught another guest trying to steal my food from the fridge.
The room was nice and warm on a cold December night. Location is great. There is a kitchen so you can buy food from the supermarket to cook a bit. No issues with the room. The common areas were quiet because it was low season. Toilets and showers were acceptable. Price for a private bedroom with shared bathroom was very good. Even though it's not super comfortable, there is a co-working room.
