Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

UkraineThe building is old, so the staircase is narrow—travelers with very large suitcases might find it a bit inconvenient. This isn’t a drawback, just something to keep in mind 🫶
A very quiet location, yet right in the heart of the old town. The private room was very cozy. There were plenty of shower cabins, so there was never a queue in the morning. The kitchen had everything needed. The reception staff were incredibly kind!❤️

EstoniaI had to ask help from two different people to help me open/close my room door. It was nearly impossible. Shower and WC rooms are not very modern/clean.
Cosy and clean room. Comfortable bed. Staff polite and helpful. Nice location in the old town. Quiet, i had a good nights sleep.

SerbiaThe bunk beds are not only uncomfortable but seem dangerous - the top ones are too high and don't have enough protection on sides and realy shaky. Don't even think to leave anything on a shelf on the side - it will surely fall down. Also I was very uncomfortable because I got a place in a four bed room with three men (I am a woman) who seemed to know each other. The guy who was on the bed under mine was doing something which made the whole construction shaking as hell (I don't even want to guess what he was doing).
Great location, clean enough, showers are okay, WiFi was working fine, the guy at the reception was very nice and brought me some tea in the morning of my departure when I realised I didn't take any.

FinlandShowering experience was bad. Lights in bathroom, which are activated with movement, kept switching off even though I was moving the whole time. I could not lock the door in shower. No movable shower head so it was harder to wash, but because it is about the design it is not as bad as the lights and lock situation. I booked a 4-bed room for which it was said on booking that it is empty, as I walked into the room there where 2 people sleeping there. I checked later again and it was still written that you can reserve 3 beds in that s 4-bed bedroom. In the hallway in front of the hostel door there was a man sleeping on the floor. Not the hostel's fault but it was scary nevertheless.
Location is good. It was very easy to check in. Price is good.

FinlandThe kitchen which is facing the reception was dirty and smelling. The smell reaches up to the second floor where our room was located. The kitchen is so dirty and messy so we have no choice but to clean it first before we start using it. Used plates, glasses, frying pans are unwashed. Tables and sink are messy and oily. The couple next to our room were so noisy and were laughing out loud until past 4am without considering the other guests who are trying to sleep next door making it impossible for us to sleep until we have to knock on the wall of the room dividing our room from theirs. The property listing mentioned that there are towels but when we asked towels from the reception, the receptionist said that the towels are only for private rooms and not for dorms. Well, it should be clearly specified in the listing that the towels are paid for dorm guests.
Comfortable bed and location, rate per night is affordable.

AustriaThe whole vibe felt a bit off to me but it might have just been bad luck with the current guests. It was primarily men, there were multiple people that seemed to live there for longer, and there was an old drunk guy who slept passed out on the stairs one of the nights. My stay was cut short and I wasn't unhappy about it. There were no lockers in the room so no way to keep your valuables safe during the day. Towel rent is an extra 2€. Just one USB charging port in the bed. There was little privacy despite the beds being rather closed off. Could be easily solved by installing curtains. Toilets were often dirty and out of toilet paper.
Very central location, just a few minutes walk away from a supermarket and sights in the old town. Many toilets and showers. You can store your luggage for free. The wifi worked quite well. The staff was really friendly and helpful. The bed was really comfortable.

Czech RepublicHorrible place, I absolutely do not understand the ratings, or maybe it's just not my "vibe". I got to the city super late (or early, depending on how you look at it) because of a flight cancellation. My room was "ready". This was supposed to be a single room which looked quite nice on Booking.com. Not so the reality. At the reception desk there were a bunch of guys drinking vodka and pretty heavily intoxicated. The whole place looks like a complete dump. The room was less than basic, the door onto the terrace was impossible to lock, there was a modem with blinking lights all night, the showers were gross (hair in the drains), there was no soap at the sinks, but there was laundry hanging around on racks. You could hear every single thing in the place, and as a solo woman I felt extremely uncomfortable. I stayed for a few hours just to get a bit of sleep after 9+ hours on a bus, but booked somewhere else before I closed my eyes and got out of there as soon as humanly possible. A disgrace. The only decent thing is the location, but I am now at a hotel not far away for just a few EUR more, and it's like a different planet.
Good location, and maybe if dingy hostels are your thing.

GeorgiaUnwelcoming staff, messy in the bedroom, in the kitchen. Just a small stone age bath. WC too !!( The worst thing: "the Bedbugs" in my bed and I couldn't sleep normally. In short, I don't know why this hostel has such a recommendation but I think it is highly overrated and not worth it.. That was the worst hostel I've ever been to. .

FinlandBED BUGS! We were promised a full refund, which to me seems like the only right way to go about this. So we book the next place and pack our things. At the time of leaving we were told we won’t get our money for the night we already stayed and that they can’t reimburse for my friends booking at all, because it was paid online through booking.com Guys, not cool, figure it out. Bed bugs happen, this kind of shenanigans doesn’t have to.
I like the place and the vibe, good for meeting people. Great for solo travellers.

JapanToo much stairs. If you’ve got a big luggage it’s tough. The second layer of bunk bed is way too high to climb up and it makes loud noise and get squeaky while going up. The bed doesn’t have a curtain. The bathroom area could be cleaner. There was no towel or paper so I couldn’t clean it after using it either.

PolandI have been traveling to Tallinn for over 10 years and I have never been disappointed by hostels - from which you do not expect too much for a low price. However, what I saw and experienced in the hostel goes beyond the limits. It was supposed to be four nights, but ended with evacuation after the first night. For over 30 people on one floor, one shower and toilet, the cleanliness of which leaves much to be desired. Permanent occupation of the kitchen by some Latinos, who also treat this hostel as a home. The condition of the kitchen and the filth in it leave much to be desired. And the highlight of the program: !! BEDBUGS !!. I was bitten by these bugs over 30 times. I discovered this in the archives while working and as soon as I returned to the hostel, I reported this fact to the staff and checked out of the hostel. The person at the reception did not care much about it - she gave back the 10 euro deposit for the entrance card (strange), and promised that they would refund the cost of the reservation with them. We will see if the money appears in the account. For now, I'll spend my entire 10th stay in Estonia scratching my bites because the hostel in the center of Tallinn doesn't care about the cleanliness of the beds or common areas. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!
Nothing!
