We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

My stay was truly exceptional! From the very first moment, I was warmly welcomed by the front desk team. I would like to give special thanks to Mohamed Shoman, Ahnd Ragab, and Ashraf Zaki (Hotel Manager) for their professionalism and respectful attitude. The hotel was very comfortable, with excellent facilities, clean rooms, and a great location. I genuinely felt that the staff cared about the comfort and satisfaction of their guests. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Marsa Matrouh, and I will definitely come back again for another stay!

United StatesI didn't use the Wifi in my room because I didn't bother to ask about the username and password. I stayed there one night only. Therefore, I'm not sure if it works well in the room.
This hostel is special. The entire building is the hostel. I lived in a bedroom of a whole apartment on the 11th floor. My room was super clean, well equipped, and quiet. It's also very safe. I needed a card to make the elevator go up to back to my room. The location is downtown. There are a lot of restaurants and convenient stores down the street.

SlovakiaWe booked this place for a one-night stop on our way to Siwa. Clean sheets were a plus, but no towels were provided. The furniture is dated and the kitchen is basic, but it suited our needs as we only needed a place to sleep. The central location and good WiFi were also appreciated, as was the view from the 11th floor. However, you'll need a taxi to/from the bus station. Good value for a short stay.

During my recent travels, I had the pleasure of staying at Almanara Hotel Marsa Matrouh and I can confidently say it was one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had In Egypt ( as an Egyptian hotel category ) Atmosphere and Ambiance. Upon entering, I was immediately struck by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The common area was bright and airy, filled with comfortable seating, &!vibrant decor,. It felt like a home away from home, where I could unwind after a day of Beach / exploring. The Owner: A Gem The heart of Al Manara Hotel is undoubtedly its owner, Taher . From the moment I arrived, Taher greeted me with a genuine smile and made me feel instantly welcome. He took the time to show me around the hostel, explaining the facilities and sharing insider tips about the local area. His passion for hospitality was evident; he truly cared about his guests’ experiences. Personal Touches What set this hostel apart were the personal touches. Each staff really go the extra mile to provide the best service ,. & both owner & manager couldn’t do better Cleanliness and Facilities The hostel itself was impeccably clean. The apartment was well-maintained, and the shared dorm apartment was very spacious, with comfortable beds and plenty of storage space. There were also an awesome roof overlooking the beach . as well as a communal kitchen stocked with essentials for those who wanted to cook. Location Almanara Hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of literally everything & anything from restaurants, and public transport. Taher, provided a detailed highlighted info for the best spots to visit, which made navigating the area easy and enjoyable. Final Thoughts My stay at Almanara Hotel was nothing short of exceptional.

South KoreaEverything is perfect, location, convenience, staffs and reasonable price. As the hotel is located at the middle of Matrouh, I can get to El Hana beach, markets and cafeteria by less than 5 mins walk. Also, it’s easy to travel other cities by public transportation as the railway and bus stations are not far from the hotel; taxi fare is less than 1 USD. I strongly recommend Al Manara to all travelers.

EgyptIt's abit far from the sea around 10 mins walking, and that the apartment doesn't have a view as it's in the city center so you can see the sea if you're in 11th floor from very far away, also i didn't liked that the furniture is abit old, the elevator was facing issues and only one elevator was working.
The stuff were nice and friendly, specially Ahmed El Mahalawy he was cooperative when it came to cancel our booking for the last 2 nights, also the apartment have all the amenities like kitchen with all equipment also a washing machine for clothes.

GermanyTo be honest, I loved this place, for just small money I got a luxurious flat for me alone on the top of the highest building of the city, I loved the lights inside the home, you have a living room, tv, kitchen, washing machine, a bathroom and hot water as well as confortable beds! You have everything near the house, for eat, markets, the beach is only 10 minutes by walking. People are nice and quiet and respect you so much. I will come again

SpainIn overall, Marsa Matrouh is more expensive in accommodation than other cities across Egypt, yet the price was reasonable
Huge shared apartment, which I could have for myself alone because there were no other guests, as I went in low season. Very comfortable bed with clean sheets. All other facilities were clean and good. Helpful staff, helped me with my late arrival. Convenient location, nearby the main beach of the city

EgyptIt's time to write a fare review about this amazing place. I'm a regular guest for more than 3 years now and it didn't fail to impress me everytime. First thing is the value like quality for price is great. The service, rooms and apartments are really cool with some seaview options. The location is the best, it can't be better actually right in the center of the city where you can find everything around and the area is really alive all day and night. You can walk everywhere and also easy to get transportation to the lovely beaches out if the town. The staff and hosts are amazing and very helpful everytime I needed something they care to get me the best help and solutions. They are also very respectful and friendly. I love the vibes and the atmosphere there. It is the best place to stay in Marsa Matrouh. If you are visiting Marsa Matrouh then you should stay there definitely.

United StatesAt first the light in the bathroom was pretty dim but that got replaced. The washer that was originally there didn't work well but that also go replaced with a new washer. The other thing doesn't have anything to do with the hotel. Maesa Matrouh is a beautiful city, so I am wondering why there is so much trash on the streets. However, many of the locals were very friendly.
The upstairs apartment was very spacious, clean, and well kept up. The kitchen was well equipped with everything I needed to cook a meal including a microwave, hot water kettle, and a working gas stove and oven. It had a large comfortable queen size bed and plenty of space in the closet to put all personal items. There are two beds in each room so you can either have a private room or one roommate at the most. There is a large balcony to go out on and catch some sun and a clothesline to hang up washed laundry. At night the view of the city and ocean is spectacular. The owner, Farrag, is always very kind, accommodating, and quick to take care of whatever needs you may have. .

South Korea-No wifi and Airconditioners -The door was really hard to open by the key I've ever seen -Almanara is an apartment building and the host's main job is managing this building, not for the hostel only. So if you are tourists who needs information of Mersa Matruh from the host, do not choose this hostel. The host is always busy(It's not only my opinion. My african roommate also said like it.). He ignored my message for asking wifi and didn't say hello or even goodbye after that.
-Reasonable price -No mosquito because it's in 11th floor

EgyptI didn’t stay more than 2h at this horrible apartment. I arrived with 7 family members and I had to look for another place and here’s why, 1- it looks like the photos from afar. The hygiene is the worst. The apartment is full of dirty carpets and stained furnitures. I asked the cleaning staff if I can get an electric sweeper, they said they don’t have one and they claimed they clean it regularly. They argue what you see with your own eyes!! 2- there’s only one AC in the apartment, the other rooms has dirty fans when you turn it on, it will flow dust in the air not to mention the noisy sounds coming out from the fan in the living room. 3- the one AC doesnot have a remote control and the reception guy told me to either leave it open or switch it off but I won’t control the temperature. The apartment is very sunny, it’s not how the owner answered one of the questions that you won’t need more ACs, it’s sunny and hot despite that the weather outside is great. 4- look up this place first on Google, it’s a hostel that definitely not worth the 650 USD that I paid and it’s not worth paying in USD. And you will find more people rating their bad experiences there. 5- the water heater leaked water in the bathroom 6- when I arrived there was just 1 out of 4 elevators working. TBH, they managed to fix that in 3h however there are always a queue in front of elevators. 7- the owner claimed to booking that I arrived too early at 12:00 pm and that the cleaning staff didnot get the chance to complete cleaning, while I arrived at 12:30 PM and informed him on booking that my checkin time will be around 12-1PM. and I shot a photo from the lobby where they state that their checkin time starts at 12:00 PM. It’s endless cycle of false claims and lies by the owner.
I hate everything about this property. To be specific, I reserved what they call “Deluxe Apartment” at the 13th floor. There’s nothing deluxe about this place. It was full of dust, hair, stains and cockroaches. It’s a complete fraud!
