Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThere are Nubian communities on the island, but you are restricted to the hotel property. If you want to go to tourist attractions in Aswan other than Philae, the hotel refers you to expensive tours. No help with do-it-yourself. No help at their boat dock to simply find a taxi.
Beautiful place. Wonderful breakfast. Having a hot tub on the deck that actually got to 39 degrees was wonderful. Very easy to visit the Philae Temple from there--the hotel boat will take you for a very reasonable price.

The location is simply breathtaking. All around the hotel the views are spectacular. Our suite was spacious and clean, excellent bathroom. The check in process was super smooth. The way to the hotel from the boat dock is steep but they have a complimentary tuktuk which helps if you don't want to hike up. The staff is excellent, attentive and very polite. One of the staff, Taha, stood out for us, he makes an excellent mint lemonade. The breakfast buffet has an extensive choice. Dinner choices are varied and decent tasting. Each night a dinner they have local musicians perform lovely music. Bed are comfortable.

United KingdomIf I was being picky- sun-beds in addition to chairs - if you want tranquil this is the place
I have stayed in over 400 5 star hotels - we loved this place - boutique hotel with 22-24 rooms - stunning architecture and gardens - unique location with awesome views - you won’t find many hotels like this - quite romantic - don’t go if you want to party!- very chilled and staff can not be more helpful- room and the plunge pool were lovely - we brought a couple of bottle of wine and staff were more than happy to serve it at dinner - very memorable stay - thank you

United StatesNot all the staff had very strong English so asking questions that are non standard can be tricky. I wish the decks had lounge chairs instead of upright chairs. Pizza is not very good
The soups are delicious. The hotel is very charming and the boat rides here and back are easy and fun. The location feels remote but it's just a quick ride to tours and sites in Aswan. I love that there are a few local crafts you can buy in the lobby. Staff is very nice.

United StatesRestaurant for a la carte dinner could be improved in terms of value and food choices; suggest more Egytpian and Nubian selections, as those were delicious (and less focus on ‘international dishes’ that were lacking in flavor). Also, jacuzzi was way too hot for first day/ night and no instructions as to how to change temperature other than shutting off and removing cover to cool overnight. Would be nice to have outdoor pool area and/or enhanced spa area with outdoor space for relaxing after tours. Not a problem for us, but it is quite far to get to hotels/ restaurants etc in downtown Aswan if that is important.
Gorgeous views of Philae temple and Nile from the large balcony with jacuzzi, with beautiful sunrises and moonrises and back light from sunsets. Unique and stunning location on the Nile-fueled reservoir formed by the Old dam and New dam. Easy boat service to Philae temple ($20 r/t for both of us) and reliable, free transport to city side boat dock for pick up and drop off to meet tours and transport. Great breakfast and helpful staff that actively sought feedback for how to improve. Nice spa with great, inexpensive massages (Egyptian massage was excellent). Definitely worth paying extra for Nile and temple view rooms with large balconies.

The views were amazing, and the service and staff were great. The shuttle boat was always ready when we needed it. The staff offered us breakfast boxes when they knew we couldn't make it to breakfast without us even asking.

EgyptThe internet connection was poor, the jacuzzi is not so private for Muslim women and needs to be heated according to the weather.
The view was great, the room was comfortable and clean, the staff were helpful, the jacuzzi is a great addition.

Saudi ArabiaI didn't notice anything negative.
If you are looking for the quietest and most wonderful place on the Nile in Aswan, do not hesitate to choose this hotel. It is much more wonderful than the pictures, with fantastic views of the Nile and the Temple of Philae on Hesa Island. I would like to thank the reception staff, Nirvana, Nardine, and Andrew, for their warm welcome and attention to the guests, explaining all the details upon their arrival and providing all the facilities, especially transportation to and from the island until their departure. The level of cleanliness in the rooms and the restaurant is excellent and the quality of the food is high.

GermanyI wouldn’t say I didnt like anything, but the location is something to keep in mind depending on your preference and why you’re visiting Aswan (see my comment on location under things i liked)
The staff are amazing, very welcoming, friendly and attentive and accommodating - you feel like you’re part of a family and this is what made us feel comfortable as if we’re at home. The hotel grounds are pretty, give you the summer island holiday feel with lovely Nubian art and decoration. The Jacuzzi is big enough to fit 3 people comfortably. Service was very efficient, we requested boats to go to Philae Temple twice and both times the boats were prepared on time or earlier than requested. The shuttle boat that brings you to Aswan is free of charge and 24h available. We went to Abu Simbel one day and left around 4am, the hotel gave us breakfast boxes, the boxes were huge with a lot of sandwiches, fruits, baked goods, water, juice - so much that actually a box would suffice for 2 people instead of one. The location of the hotel is nice because it is secluded so it is therefore very peaceful, you’re in the middle of the nile with nice views to enjoy. Since are not really interested in the city of Aswan itself and were only there to visit Philae and Abu Simbel - both of which are quite far away anyway - the location was perfect for us because we did not need the city center, so this is a point to keep in mind.

NetherlandsThe rooms are slightly over looked from certain angles, so staff require more discretion. No pool. $20 for boat to Philae temple was too high a charge. Telescope for star gazing would be great? less light pollution, use lower wattage?
Stunning location and hotel. Beautiful stylying incorpating Nubian and mediterrean ideas. The spa service was great, reccommend! Breakfast very good. Restaurant menu good. Winter nights are cold so good inside dining available. Loved the Nubian musicians.
