Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe internet upload speeds were very slow - very difficult to post videos to social media. No AC in the room, but I knew that coming in.
I loved how David was so helpful to foreigners. He treated us like his actual guests - letting us know of the actual local prices and helping us find the best deals in the most honest way possible. He would go the extra mile to make sure we got on the right mini bus and the taxi was taking us to the correct place. I would come back to his hostel for this hospitality alone.

IndiaBathroom is too small and the fan was noisy. Mattress could have been more comfortable. Size of the room was a bit small. However, it was good value for money. It's not a five star hotel but as David mentions it's a five hearts place.
The warm hospitality from David. Seamless experience of visiting Abu Simbel. Value for money.

Mr David is the best Aswan host by far away. He help me with the best ways to move to the different temples like Kom Ombo, Philae, Delfus. Also you can book with him tour trips to Abu Simbel.

CanadaI was so happy to find something so affordable last minute in Aswan. I was pleased with friendliness and how helpful the young man at the reception was when he arrived late in the evening. Also his care about our “take out” breakfast when we were leaving so early in the morning to go to Abu Simble for a day trip. A lot of privacy where the room was. Lots of space in the whole area of the building.

NetherlandsI do not have much to complain because again, it is a cheap place. We had a situation with the water and they offered alternatives.
The hotel is quite cheap, so, you get what you paid for. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is relatively good, not in the center but kind of half way to Marina and the center. The room is small and has a private bathroom which is good. They offer breakfast, but, again, don’t expect much because of the hotel price. For the tour to Abu Simbel that you have to be up early (4:00 am)they give you the prep breakfast. There are many local shops around were you do groceries as a local!!! We did not see good restaurants around, so, we are street food. David was always available to help.

CanadaThe common space/living room could be more inviting and would be closed sometimes- it would be nice to have communal space to meet fellow travelers.
David and his wife were amazing hosts- always ready to help! Basic breakfast was included in the courtyard, and it was a nice way to meet other guests.

United StatesIt was my second trip to Egypt so I wasn't fazed, but be aware that if you arrive at night the road to access the place may appear a little sketchy. No big deal, just get a cheap Uber right to the door if this gives you more peace of mind.
David and his family are great hosts, helping with all sorts of info on local attractions. They will booko you on any local tour, but even better will give you advice on how to visit sites independently. Room was spacious with comfortable bed. Secure facility.
