David and his wife are incredibly helpful when it comes to traveling Aswan on a budget. They organized tours for me during the entirety of my stay and at the cheapest price possible. You cannot find these deals anywhere else and they were very nice about everything. I'd recommend this place to any budget traveler.

This is not a problem of the property, but the city (and Egypt in general) faces powercuts which can become inconvenient when it gets hot.

David is an exceptional host committed to ensuring his guests have great experiences, all while giving as much value for money as possible! His commitment shows in his attention to his guests' needs and a true spirit of service. On our first day, he personally picked up my wife and myself at 1 AM. That's not all! Before meeting David, I had booked a three-nights cruise covering Abu Simbel and the major temples of Luxor. I changed my plans because David helped me book an alternate cruise that covers the same ones in lesser time and at a fraction of the costs! He also helped arrange accommodation in Luxor and an airport drop for my flight to Cairo! He also made sure we were well settled in the cruise before we set sail. Must-recommend for experiencing Aswan and Luxor with ease and convenience.

David gives me a wonderful vacation in Aswan. That's my best choice to stay here. Pickup service gives a free mind upon arrival. Big room with an airconditioner and a fan make me comfortable even during hot afternoon. Free breakfast and dinner are also dilicious. I visited Abu Simbel Temple, Philae Temple, Nubian Village, Komombo Temple and so on in 3 days. Amazing sunset view along the Nile river also leaves me a deep impression. Thank you so much to David for the wonderful holiday.

No,I am very satisfied with my stay here.

David was always on hand to give particularly helpful advice, including arranging trips, going to the bus station, etc This is one of the best value hostels I have stayed in Aswan located in a local community and shop with local price and only 3 pounds to go to city center. If you want to experience the local life and are not in a hurry, I strongly recommend staying here for a longer time.

I was given a room in the basement with pretty much no window. It was very different from the pictures in the advertisement and I think the ad was unnecessarily misleading about this. The location is indeed very far from everything, so staying there comes with an additional 1-2$ for transport every time you go anywhere.

Value for money is okay (even though breakfast and dinner are very basic). It is clean and quiet.

The only minor thing was that the WiFi was slow, but that seems to be the case everywhere in Egypt.

David was really friendly and organised a lot of tours for us. Great dinner and breakfast included. When we left on a tour at 4 am we received a packed breakfast, which was really thoughtful. Great value for money.The private driver he organised was very friendly and really went out of his way for us.

The family were very nice. David is incredibly Helpful and will Go out of his way to make your stay positive. He gives a lot of helpful advice and will answer all of your questions. The Abu simel trip you can organise with him is great value for money I would recommend you go through him. Simple but lovely breakfast but even when you leave at 4am he prepares for you. For what you pay this hostel is fantastic value for money and you cannot complain as very cheap and incredibly kind and lovely man. The bed is comfortable and a towel is included and shower very warm too. I would 100% stay again and would highly recommend this place as you will have no problems or issues and will have a much better experience for all of the knowledge and help David gives you.

The location is not the best but most tours pick you up so that's fine.

We were for a few hours there but felt David is such a great host. Very flexible with check in time, he helped us reach the meeting point for a tour at 4am, the packed snacks/breakfasts is sooo thoughtful! Highly recommend!

This is a great backpacker place. We met lots of people here with very different backgrounds and we found the double room very clean and comfortable. David and his family were very welcoming and provided a lot of info. The included breakfast and dinner was a very nice touch and on a few occasions saved us when we couldn't find places open during Ramadan. Highly recommend.

It’s a place just like magic home. Whoever stays there will offer whatever they can to help each other. I felt so much warmth from David through Hany. It is really a pity because in general the guesthouse is good especially the single room. Nevertheless, when I asked the host David to accept my free cancellation request, he replied no problem in WhatsApp, but in reality he never did :( I really hate those who don't keep their promises.

Is it a really low price?? no it’s not for that bad quality. The first bed i have got was very bad, once i sat on it i went between the wooden plates that holding the mattress, then i asked the hoster to change to the upper one, once i layed down the bed started moving, l felt like I will fall any time with a high annoying noise. I told the David that I will late out, he said to me just ring the doorbell, I ringed for many times then someone opened with angry face. I have been told by David that they only got one living room downstairs if i need to stay and have my dinner or drink a cup of tea, but when went down to prepare something to eat i found someone sleeping down there. I know David will not accept the negative reviews as i reed his replies on the guests’s negativs reviews. Any way, l have stayed there only because I had no time to complaining, I tried to enjoy my stay in Aswan and spent most of my time out.
