Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

South AfricaI booked the place because the reviews spoke about David's helpfulness and kindness. Maybe he didn't like our group. At 07.45 he sent me the following note: "Please ask your group to come to the breakfast. But remember to pack your stuff and leave rooms around 9". This although check-out time is 10.00. The place had also not been cleaned and dusted. In front of the one bathroom was a dirty Ethiopian Air blanket which served as a mat.
Cheap accommodation with free breakfast

PolandThe only thing I didn't like was noise from the street but it didn't affect our sleep.
The room was comfortable and most importantly clean, and the staff were friendly. They helped us book a trip to Abu Simbel which was really good and much cheaper compaing to other tour operators. The location is a bit further from city center but it was really easy to catch minibuses to get there, and David helped us a lot when we had any questions. This hostel is is a great value for money.

David was very helpful and easy to communicate with. Helped us with pricing and was easily reached via WhatsApp when we were in town and needed help. He booked abu simbel tour. Very cheap. Good kitchen and lounge. The beds are what you pay for. Washing was free and a packed breakfast in the morning of breads and cakes.

RomaniaDavid, the owner is an extraordinary man, he helps you with everything. Even if the location is somewhat far from the city center, minibuses run all the time at a ridiculously low price, 2.5 Egyptian pounds per trip, and nearby you can find good quality and cheap street food. Stay at David Hostel!

Perfect for backpackers! Had everything we needed and David and his family took great care of us. David picked us up from the airport and also provided tours to see many attractions in Aswan as well as recommendations for food to try. Free breakfast and laundry was amazing too. Highly recommend!!

ColombiaGood room with little balcony. Very quite neighbourhood. The commun areas are nice. You basicaly share a flat with one or two other rooms. David and his family are very helpful. Excellent value for the money! It's a bit far from the center but you can find super cheap public mini bus very often in the street or with a private tuk-tuk you're there in less than 10min and still very cheap.

United KingdomThe pillows were quite hard but we slept pretty well anyway and for the price it was very good.
Great location and lovely staff- David helped us organise taxis to different places and was very accommodating and helpful! Free breakfast was included and was very varied with lots of little pastries and sandwiches and a swiss roll type cake. He even packed this up for us when we had to leave early. We were in a 4 bed dorm and towels in were provided.

United StatesThe place is in a good location where you can shop for groceries and find one or two places to eat. The rooms themselves were not fancy but spacious, clean and sufficient for few nights of stay. Wifi was ok. David and his wife are great hosts. David took the extra effort to pick us up from the airport. He arranged for the early morning trip to Abu Sibmel temple and he dropped us off personally at the train station. Without his help it would have been tough to arrange for local transportation. Overall a great place to stay and great host. If you are on a budget travel and happen to be in Aswan then this is the place to stay. Definitely recommend this place!

United KingdomThis is a tricky one. Great online reviews hence the booking, however we were asked to leave the communal garden by the female host at midnight as a tour was booked to have breakfast at 3am ? Our door was abruptly knocked at 9am to let us know breakfast was ready. We expected to eat in the communal garden, only to find a carboard tray with several pieces of bread. No drink or tea. David the host was very approachable and welcoming. The female host however left us feeling unwelcome, treated us like children and frankly made us feel as though our stay and experience was secondary to the other guests/tours. The breakfast incident was clearly an attempt to rush us out from the room and very unprofessional. This is a shame because otherwise our stay could have been memorable. We wouldn't stay here again, and only hope we caught this experience on a bad day for the host. We travelled all across Egypt, and this was the only time we were made to feel unwelcome.
Great place to meet other travellers, room was clean and comfortable with close proximity to local shops.
