Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

LatviaAll good!
It's a great location if you are planning to visit pyramids. Views from the hotel are simply amazing. I'd say you mainly pay for the location and a view, so don't expect a premium luxury room. However, the room was clean and well equipped!

CanadaPaying at the hotel was Paying at the hotel was a very stupid idea because I arrived after a fifteen hour flight and I was very tired. My bank had to send a verification code for the payment process which was very time consuming. I had to use roaming service which cost about 40 dollars and took most of my time. Please withdraw the money from the customer's account at the time of hotel reservation. unpleasant smell inside the dining area was disgusting Breakfast was awful, everything was leftover foods from yesterday or more. Unnatural drinks with sugar taste. Stale breads. All the tables on the terrace were dirty

United KingdomWe booked a ‘deluxe double pyramids view room with balcony’. We got none of this!! We had 4 beds in the room, absolutely no balcony and the ‘view’ was of the inside of the hotel walls. There was work going on all night so I managed 2 hours of sleep. Very disappointing! We were then charged for mango juice the next morning at breakfast, when we were told the night before that all juices were included in the breakfast price.
The property location was amazing! The views of the pyramids were right on our doorstep and there was a light show during the evening of our stay which was incredible to watch.

United KingdomThe rooms were extremely disappointing. They did not match the description given of them at all. They said they would have a mountain view for example, but there was a brick wall just a few feet way, and that was all that could be seen. There were lots of other things that were totally different to the description as well. Another separate issue was that there were no bedside lights, so you had to stumble around in the dark to put on the light. I asked if they had one I could borrow, but they didn't. I found the rooms very depressing.
The proximity to the pyramids and the wonderful view from the terrace were brilliant. And the staff were great, very friendly and helpful.

Czech RepublicWe had no time to look for problems, all the time we spent in the hotel (and were not sleeping) we were sitting on the terrace and watching pyramids and the Sphinx (who is watching you).
The view of pyramids of Giza is a 10-star experience that you will not forget in your life. There is a handful of other hotels in the neighborhood with similar view, but I would say Hayat has the best one (and the Sphinx is looking directly to you). The view is even better than their photos on the web Do not hesitate and book here. Very good breakfast and friendly staff.

United KingdomMy bedroom was normal but the heater was not working and the tv was not working either. Breakfast was not good. I just ate a te and egg. But don’t expect a lot for breakfast. The staff are welcome but always you have to give a tip. Even if you don’t need they are there. I don’t like that.
The best off this hotel was the views.

South Africa1. bad location, in the dirty part of Giza, smells and noises are bad 2. I booked the best room with supposed views of the pyramids yet had none 3. the pictures on booking.com not close to real life!
good views from roof only, not from room as advertised. The room I booked was specifically to get a pyramid view yet had no view and pics inside room= not what you get. Its false advertising. Buyer beware.

United KingdomThis wasn't a 4 star or 5 star rated hotel. The cleanliness of the room has a lot to be desired, the shower room was small and cramped, and the holders (toilet roll, soap) had all fallen apart and we're lying on the floor. The toilets had not been cleaned in a while. The room size itself was decent, but again was falling apart in places. The hotel staff try to push through taxi sales (as I presume so they make commission), and request amounts in sterling and hassle to make you pay in this manner. Breakfast selection was poor
Room size was good.

United KingdomApart from Ahmed, the Manager who was brilliant, all of the other staff were not satisfactory and not able to help at all in any way what so ever. For instance, things were ordered in the restaurant and the things that arrived were not what was ordered. The hotel recommended a guide, the guide provided was singularly despicable and his craft was of the lowest standard imaginable, for instance, he mistook pharonic periods, years, dates and had less knowledge of Egyptian history than us. His sole aim was to get us to a papyrus factory owned by his friend and get the most baksheesh he could. Further a receipt was requested and it never arrived.
The view was breathtaking and is certainly the best thing about this hotel.
