Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NepalThe hostle is directly on an main street. So being in Cairo that means it's very loud until late. Cars are honking like crazy.
The staff is very friendly and helpful 👍 It's clean. There is a comfortable room to hangout and breakfast and meet other people. Its in the middle of the city. That's good.

Egyptthe guy who worked November 20th afternoon shift has a huge problem to dealing with the customer. he asked for change the bed to another room. it's ok if he would've explained WHY but he didn't tell me even if I asked the reason twice I thought it was a kind of racism and still confused about his behavior. second he woke me up when I was taking a nap and he never said sorry and just asked for the room change. if the owner or manager of the hostel check this review you have to do something with him! I like your hostel but because of him every moment in the hostel was horrible
location quality sanitizing breaskfast all good.

SpainThe shower in our room was broken. They tried to fix it but could not do it during our stay. The entrance of the building is in very bad condition, although the hostel area is ok. The breakfast could be a bit better.
Nice staff, good room size, comfortable beds, really good location. We could leave the bags after check out and could come back and have a shower before leaving to the airport.

PolandPayment was a bit confusing. All hostels during my 3-weeks travel in Egypt charged me in USD and only this hostel accepted payment only in local currency. Not a problem at all, but instead of 7 USD (my price on booking app) I was charged 446 EGP, which is not equivelent (apparently I was charged 2.2 USD more per 1 night). I don't know the reason, maybe there was some tax not mentioned on booking.com (?), but for sure it wasn't clear and change of currecy was cunfusing: I realized that I paid more in EGP too late to ask
Clean room with courtains and lockers, several bathrooms on the floor, common space - everything needed in this kind of backpacker hostel, no reason to complain. Additionally nice location in downtown Cairo and amazing view from balcony in a female dorm.

BelgiumThe rooms with private bathrooms (which we have) are bathroom cubicles that do not reach the roof. This means the bathroom is in no way separate to the bedroom. Any odors from your toilet visits will be shared with your room-mate. The pillows were very hard (this is a personal preference). The breakfast is extremely basic though it is a nice addition. The cleanliness was just ok but the place definitely seems "used"
Its a very basic hostel but relatively clean and for the price can't really be argued with. Location is perfect for visiting Cairo, staff are very friendly and we never heard noise from other guests which can sometimes be an issue with hostels.

TaiwanIts bathroom is simply separated from the room by a plastic partition, so it does not have any sound insulation or smell isolation function. It was funny.

TaiwanIt looked like a ruined apartment. The outside of the hostel was covered in dust and looked quite scary. If the hostel was not in this building, people would not dare to step in. The public shower room looks usable, but it's definitely not comfortable. The overall cleanliness cannot be called clean and comfortable. Maybe the equipment is too old. The wifi in the room is not stable.
Bunk beds with curtains and bedside lamps. Air conditioning is good. There is an elevator, which is very convenient. There is an airport shuttle service, which costs USD 15 per trip.

SingaporeHad an argument with the owner who tried to lecture me on "why is it justifiable for Egyptian government to enforce a law that foreigners can't pay in EGP", not very pleasant experience overall.
The breakfast was fine and there were many travelers to talk with.

United StatesThe men would walk into the womans room with little notice. The staff was rude. The nicest people were the cleaning ladies. Worse pyramid tour ever!!!. She just kept trying to get us to buy things. She was rude, and she skipped parts we paid for. Everyone on the tour hated her. She also tried to get us to take pictures and when we refused she got angry. She doesn't understand backpackers at all. Towards the end, we tried to ditch her completely, so the four of us could enjoy ourselves.
The dorms were great.

IndiaThe room turned out to be very basic - unlike the pictures. The building in which this is located seems to be in shambles. For the price we paid (which was hotel like), the whole experience was just a basic hostel - even the private bathroom seemed like a makeshift one.
The accessibility of this hostel is probably the best selling point.
