Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThe staff did not speak English, payment of the hotel was in US dollars. Credit card were not welcome. The power went out many times, twice we got stuck in the lift. One cup, one glass no teaspoons, the nearest power point for the kettle was on the floor near the hotel room door. The air conditioning didn’t work.
There was nothing to like about this hotel except the views of the pyramids on a clear day.

United StatesThe hotel is located in the isolated and poor part of the city. However, it was our personal choice, we choose the view at expense of the surroundings.
View from the restaurant was amazing, people that work at the hotel are warm and helpful.

NetherlandsThe arrival was a bit disappointing as the host barely spoke English and we recieved barely any instructions such as breakfast times etc. We didnt feel a really welcoming atmosphere. A big downside for us was the 5% creditcard surcharge for the hotel stay, which was nowhere mentioned before or during booking. This surcharge seemed a bit strange and weird as we didnt face this surcharge at any other place in Egypt. Also, for us the wifi password didnt work. The breakfast is a la carte and there is no buffet, but the food was good.
The hotel and room is beautiful and modern. The room is nicely designed and the bathroom is good. Also the location is quiet and the room is soundproof.

GermanyUnfortunately we cannot recommend this hotel in any way. This hotel doesn't care about its guests. Loud construction work starts at 1:00 a.m., so if you ask for quiet as a guest, nobody cares. The manager yells at you to shut up and go back to the room. The next day, the work is justified with "emergency". However, this "emergency" was there since the beginning of our stay (four days ago). The pool is more of a bathtub. You can't swim in it. We can't recommend the restaurant either, the pizza gave the impression of a frozen pizza, the pasta was an undefinable porridge. For the sake of completeness, we would like to mention that the hotel for the sleepless night gave us the transfer to the train station (according to Uber about $3.50). The hotel charged us more than $100 for the sleepless night. Last but not least the location, it is close to the Pyramids but it is always a 30-45 minute taxi ride to the center of Cairo
Near by the pyramids

GreeceI loved everything the roof top was 1 Of my favorite spots I would hang out there every morning and evening. The breakfast was great the view was amazing. The staff was on top of it make sure that kitted after every wilm especially Islam.
Everything especially the fact that it was a brand new built hotel three months ago super clean. Most likely the most amazing view in cairo. I would wake up and go to sleep overlooking the pyramids and something very important. It was clean and it was not as dustious everywhere else in cairo.

United KingdomThe breakfast went way beyond my expectations and was really great every day. The staff were outstanding and flexible. Eslam, Isam and Mahmoud in particular all made me feel really at home and were very welcoming from what can be a very chaotic city! I will for sure be staying here again.

GreeceReally bad service and location. 1) The hotel is located in a a far-out area. The google map link shared at b.com was driving us to a different location, but they never told us that, so on our second night (on the first one they picked us up from the airport, so we did no realize this) after having made rounds with the taxi for half an hour we had to call them and then they shared the correct link. The reason for this, as we have seen afterwards was that at the correct google link the hotel was already registered with really poor reviews. 2) We had requested from the previous night a taxi to take us to the pyramids in the morning at 7.30 am (just a transfer). When we got to the reception they casually told us that the driver would arrive at 8.30 am and (on their own accord!!) he would drive us around the whole day. We did not want this (and never have requested it) so we left and found a taxi on our own out in the street. 3) Their POS never seemed to work so we had to pay cash.
Not much.

United KingdomTo be honest, the experience was very bad. 1. the road near the hotel was not finished, feeling very unsafe, the surrounding air quality is extremely poor. 2. the hotel receptionist does not speak English, it is difficult to communicate 3. the actual price and booking does not match, 4. the hotel room bed sheet is very dirty, I lie down skin itch and you can see obvious stains. 5. the hot water is not enough for two people. 6. washing tools are not complete, as well as the room The mosquitoes were so bad that I couldn't sleep at night 7.there was no hairdryer in the room. 8.The breakfast was too small and mediocre, and the restaurant prices were too high compared to the UK.

After staying in two different hotels in the area and literally running away, we finally came across Sofia Pyramids hotel and it was amazing! The hotel is the only one we found who was really offering what they offer and how it looks in the pictures.
