Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe surrounding area is a construction site. It was difficult to access the hotel with all the works around. The quality of the finishings and furniture were poor. I would rate this more as a 4-stars hotel rather than 5-stars that is rated.
Nice view of the pyramids. When the construction finishes, it will give a nice view of these ancient monuments. Breakfast was good.

ItalyRooms are quite old, the AC is very noisy and can't be left on during the night. In general, the whole hotel needs renovation. One of the elevator was broken when we arrived on thursday and was still broken when we left.
The location was great, with view of the pyramids and just in front of the upcoming egyptian museum. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast was ok.

The week my wife and I spent at the hotel was perfect. The staff were very helpful with everything and the most important thing to them was that we had a good time. The cleanliness was perfect in the room, the cleaning staff was thorough every day. The food was varied and plentiful.

United Kingdomour Pyramid View room only had a view of the Pyramids from outside the bedroom at an angle off the balcony. The hotel advised as accepting both Amex and Master Card which it did not. I was made to either visit a cash point to withdraw cash or use a debit card. The hotel recommended excursions are not what is sold and you are only provided with a driver.

United KingdomThe reception staff were not very welcoming and expected tips for doing the bare minimum. Many didn’t speak English. The restaurant staff however were friendly. There were limited facilities and the food was very basic and not up to the standard we expected. There were no local shops to buy food or basic amenities.
The view of the Pyramids was nice.

United KingdomBecause of quite remote location, it is a good option to eat in the hotel. The hotel has two resturants but the menus are not available neither online nor upon request when we called the reception. It occured that one of the restaurants serves buffet which was pricey. It is worth to go there only if you are really hungry. The other restaurant is lovely and much cheaper so rather go there instead of spending too much in the buffet.
The room was very spacious and it had a beautiful view towards the pyramids. Breakfast was exceptional with good variety of choices also for vegetarians. The hotel has two nice swimming pools.

United KingdomWe stayed at the Steigenberger pyramid hotel in Cairo for a few nights and found the hotel experience unforgettable … firstly the view was amazing of the pyramids, rooms were clean and food at meal time very good. Some of the staff at times were helpful while some were cold and unhelpful towards British , especially while their native visitors wanted their service. On a good point , Management gave us a bottle of wine as a wedding anniversary gift which was appreciated The pool was nice but what we didn’t realise the neighbouring pyramids hotel could use it too . Odd , especially when they had their own. This made in quite busy and rowdy at times. The hotel is good but needs updating in places. The ending is not good though … we had a visitor at some point into our room and took 2 items of Mens clothing. The room door locks itself after leaving so a staff member with a card key entered and stole the items.. management at the hotel and HQ denied the staff were thief’s but someone in their staff is guilty.. in 20 years of travelling around the world have we had this happen befor. Steigenberger will never have our pleasure ever again

United Kingdomunfortunately we were surrounded by a huge building site which meant that our view wasn’t quite what we expected, and while I appreciate this isn’t a fault of the hotel, it was a huge expense for something so disappointing. however, my concern was that our room and bathroom had not been cleaned, our iron didn’t work, the ironing board was filthy, the bathroom bin was broken and the (cold) shower leaked everywhere. again, such a huge disappointment for the expense - we paid over £200 for only two nights!!! we asked for our bathroom to be cleaned on the first day but they didn’t so we decided that complaining to the concierge staff would get us nowhere - we’ll be contacting them directly for some compensation. the building site meant that taxi’s couldn’t find the hotel and we spent an hour one evening walking back from the road that was closed - something the hotel should pick up on and offer some sort of pick up service to accommodate this. overall, a huge disappointment and a waste of money. what we paid was not a fair reflection of the experience or standard we had and for that, I won’t be staying with Steinberger again.
we asked for a pyramid view and we got one…
