How many days we needed/ when we could check in was a bit confusing- Email communication before our arrival was challenging. It was easily resolved when we arrived (we had to pay an extra day, which was totally fine, just not clear beforehand.) Had there not been room for us after arriving at 4am it would have been exhausting.

Hmmm, nothing to be honest. They didn't have their own laundry, but I can't say I disliked that, there was a laundry 5 minutes from there so nothing critical Oh sh!t yeah mosquitos!!! These buggers were active as hell, but nothing the hostel is responsible for

The location is excellent, with convenient food and shopping nearby. The service attitude is very serious and responsible. You can also rest in the hotel lounge area after checking out. Mr. Mahad at the front desk has a warm and lovely smile from the bottom of his heart. The staff is very patient and will answer every question you ask them. Patiently help you solve the problem

The accommodation environment is very noisy, from the lobby to the elevator and the noise from the neighbors next door, although it is fine after 12 o'clock in the evening. Shower water pressure is insufficient and water output is very small

There was a smell of stale/stagnant water at one end of the room. We booked a twin room with two beds, there were three in the room, but only two of the beds had been cleaned. There were stains on one. The hook on the back of the door for the towels was poorly mounted and kept falling out. There was a carpet in front of the toilet, but the moment you run a shower it just gets sopping wet as there is no shower curtain and water covers the whole bathroom (which is not unique to this hostel, it was universal in every place we stayed at in Egypt). We got eaten alive by mosquitos. The door to the balcony doesn't close properly, and in any case wasn't sealed (old wooden door) so even if it had they would have been able to get in (if they're coming from outside). Generally clean, but felt like it could use a deep clean.

The hostel is well located in the heart of downtown cairo, so a good place to access stuff from like transport, food etc. The staff were really nice and friendly, and shout out them for finding my headphones that I left when checking out and giving them back.

Breakfast fine, would not take payment by card, which I was told I could use wanted us dollars, which I did not have they then said card machine broken, I said I would pay in egyptian pounds which at first they did not want but had to take in the end asked them to empty bins but did not do.

Poor WiFi with frequent disruptions. Broken shower. But the dissapointing highlight was that one of the receptionists (dark skin, curly hair) tried to really dupe us into buying a tour package. He was extremely helpful at first trying to convince how our itinerary was completely flawed and had a lot of issues. However, we decided to follow our gut feeling and ignore his advice. Now, after the trip, we are realising he gave us completely wrong info regarding availability/prices of trains/buses. It might be that he was completely unaware and wanted to genuinely help us but after spending so many days in Egypt it just seems to be another attempt of scammy up-selling. I'd request the hotel management to reprimand such behaviours. Use caution. Be aware. That's all I'd say I guess.
