We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Switzerlanddishonest practices
the original review was written by the hotel itself (!) and without my consent: the hotel is taking a picture of your online booking (at arrival), which is an illegal practice and allows them to have access to the both the reservation number and the secret pin code. This way, the hotel writes its own review. Appalling and despicable. Please be careful

ItalyThe photos don’t match the real rooms/terrace AT ALL. The place is very run down and the staff is not that nice. Although it’s good that the reception is 24/7 so we could check in at midnight. Although we considered changing places bc of the state of the hotel. It smelled like toilet and just overall not like the pictures. Breakfast was just ok. IMPORTANT: don’t trust the reviews you see! I got an email from booking saying “thanks for your reviews” before leaving one!! They must have a way to hack it and give themselves 10s. The place is not a ten. It’s a place worth the 10€ paid (aka, not much).

SpainThe boy of the hotel told us that web can't go by walk because there are 2 kilometres and road is not good, but this is not true. You can go walking and in 2 minutes are in the entrance of the piramids, and you can walk from Keops to Kefren and Micerinos and there are not 4kilometres like he told us. But the want to sold their tours very expensives. The breakfast is very bad.
The location is good to go to the piramids by walk, and the views are amazing!!

United KingdomSaggy beds, not comfortable. The room description is completely wrong. It mentioned having a kettle in the room. There was no kettle and when I asked the man said there's a communal kettle on the roof of the hotel which it didn't day this in the description. Breakfast was a pre packedged bread roll a cheese triangle, jam and a yogurt. I expected at least a breakfast room not just to be given this. I stayed for 6 nights and the room wasn't cleaned once or the towels changed.
The location was good. A 5 minute walk to the pyramids and 3 minutes to the main street. Also my room faced the pyramids which was good.

United Statesthe owner or whoever was in charge that day yelled in my face charged at me and screamed this a villa! not a market. unnecessary and pointless. if not for the strong smell of urine I would have said something to him but it was best not because of his rage I feel sorry for the nice woman he abuses there she was fearful of him
the breakfast of 2 omelets, 2 boiled, eggs, 8 mini falafel, palm oil cheese, and 5 flatbread for 4 people at 50le a person is a bit pricey in Egypt when the restaurants cost less and the supermarket is lesser. big nono So I like when my family and I found other arrangements.

EgyptThe shower was non existent at first but we told the manager and he came up and fixed it for us straight away and gave us a new towel. Tv didn't work, and the room was noisy due to the stray animals and horses outside, but nothing earplugs couldn't fix.
Breakfast was a packaged meal with a bread, honey, jam, cheese and coffee. We didn't love the food, but it was safe considering we are not locals. The coffee could use some work.... 😄

AustraliaWe had 2 rooms between 6 people. Unfortunately, I had made an error with the booking so there was a reshuffling of rooms. One room was great. Spacious, comfortable. Our other room was cramped. The room had a funny smell during our stay of 2 nights. We kept the window open the whole time with little effect. We have travelled budget our whole time in the Middle East but this accommodation had some of the worst mattresses. ( Sagging in the middle, poor support from the slat bases) Fridges were in both rooms which I thought would be really helpful in the warmer weather. The roof top was OK. The view was brilliant. The area was pretty weather beaten & dusty. Again breakfast was average. We have had great breakfasts in Cairo & Luxor.
The location of Makadi Pyramids View was great & provided easy access to Giza ( less than 5 minute walk)with lovely views of the pyramids from our room windows & of course, from the rooftop.

Wenn we was on the Toilette or in the shower the door stand every time opened, so we had to close it by a cair. On our Windows was no curtain. The led light was not working. On day we had hugh Problems with the WiFi in the complet hotel, beause the wires came thought the closed Window in eatch floor. The cablemanagment in the room an on the wifi Router hang all down the wall and the TV was crooked fixxed on the wall. The breakfast, the missing curtain and the bathroomdoor are the unacceptable Things in this hotel and becaus of them, the price is to high.
The best on this Hotel is the tourguied Osama, he Showed us the Pyramids and other nice places in cairo. Second was the Trip to Alexandria, we had an own driver who wait for us in Alexandria and drive us back later. But we wait one hour for our driver in the morning. The view to the pyramids from the rooftop is very beautiful.

MexicoWe arrived at 7 pm and the hostel had no free rooms, it was overbooked. Due to we had a scheduled tour, we wanted to take a shower and leave our things in our room. But since they hadn’t a free room, they sent us to another hotel to take a shower. but we were never able to leave our luggage in a room, when we came back from the tour the next day, they still didn't have a room available. We had to wait in the lobby longer

BelgiumWhen we arrived, we where immediately "pushed" to book some tours with them. They said outside there is a lot of hassle and scam, but they would refund completely if it wasn't like they promised. In the end this has been my worst experience during my whole stay in Egypt. I've booked a tour towards the Piramids by carriage and camel. After seeing how it worked, my son's and I regret doing this trip with those poor animals. At the same time we booked a quad tour with them. The deal was 3 quads for 2 hrs. In the end we had 2 quads for 50min. But of course we had paid already everything together before. (Stupid me). The guy from the reception who sold us the whole package seemed so sincere. But I guess I must work a bit more on myself to detect these kind of individuals a bit faster. Let it be clear that I wouldn't return to that hostel even if they would pay me ! What I find strange as wel is that before writing this review, it seemed I had already rated it with a 10 ???
There was honestly nothing to like.

Czech RepublicWhat I DO WORN YOU - do NOT order any service form the reception, They offer you a lot and always state that they want to help you and support and make your stay nice, but they only steal your money. We didn't want to order a drive to the pyramids, knowing it's really close and we can get taxi for 30-50 EGP and wanted to take a camel ride there, so rejected the receptionists offer for a ride, but he started to use so many arguments that finally we changed our mind. He said the pyramids are one from each other 8 kilometers away and all together it would be over 20 km (we had 2 kids with us and this really surprised us) but in reality the pyramids are cca 500 meters from each other, we could easily walk.. The same is sfynga, you can walk there from the pyramids within cca 3-5 minutes, it's really close! plus when you leave the pyramids areal via the exit which is right next to sfinga,, you'll have it only few meters back to the hotel. I guess 300 meters, so really close walking distance. Paying 80 USD for a driver is waste of money. The driver only drove us into the areal, then in the areal we walked by our own anyway as you simply want to see the pyramids, you want to be close, you want to walk around and get the atmosphere and feelings. And everything is really close. The only further distance is the "view point" from where you see all the pyramids in a line, nice place to take pictures. And there we drove on a camel. Kids loved it, we did, too. Price was 10 USD/person and I'm sure we could get it cheaper if we asked owner of the camel. But the hotel driver drove us to some "quide" who "helped" us with everything - was all the time by our side, when I wanted to buy camel, he did it, so surely increased the price to get bakshish, we couldn't get rid of him by no means, he didn't tell us any new info then the very basics you read in all books and asked for a tip in USD.
the location is JUST AMAZING! this hotel is definitely worth to stay in, you get more then you pay for - water is warm, bed is OK, toilet paper and some (small and old) towels are provided, A/C works (well our didn't but after contacting reception, it was fixed within cca 2 hours). Do not count on ben linen on your blanket, there are none, so the hygiene is not perfect. But for the costs it's more then OK :) The best is the view. You are really SUPER close to the pyramids, the terrace is just beautiful and I would go there again for sure

United Arab EmiratesIf you are planning to hook an airport transfer with them - don't rely on that. A day vefore departure I asked where the shuttle would wait for me, they clearly stated that "someone will hold a hotel sign anf wait for you at the airport". And NADA! After one hour of waiting I wrote them asking for location, cause I thought I was waiting at the wrong spot - NO reply. At the end I took a taxi. Got to the hotel and asked why they didn't pick me up, instead I was yelled at. So I didn't want to continue listening to the receptionist yelling and just turned and went to my room. By pure luck the owner was fixing lights on the same floor as my room, so I asked him again - he said I didn't confirm a day before. After I asked him to check our email confirmation (and he saw I did confirm), he said I had to quote him as soon as landed (maybe the flight is delayed), I said I did!! So he turned and started telling me that the taxi I took was actually sent by him!!! I couldn't argue more and just left. In the morning I just ordered a Uber, when I was leaving a receptionist was insisting that I booked a transfer back with them and I HAD to take it. I just left with my Uber. The same evening I got an email from booking asking if I stayed with them, as the hotel claimed I didn't. I did stay with them, have photos of the hotel and the record of Uber booked from the hotel to the airport The overall stay was uncomfortable, luckily I was only in transit and stayed for one night- lots of guys at the reception and sitting and shouting till late night outside the hotel. The bed linen was probably changed once in a blue moon, as it was full of stains. The only plus - is the view from the rooftop. Breakfast ? I left at 5.45, noone even offered me a piece of bread or coffee before I left
Only the view from the roof top - the rest?.. don't get me started!

United KingdomYou have to wait at least half an hour to have breakfast even if you ask to have it at a specific time. No one that serves breakfast speaks English. In the last day we had to rush a lot because, even if we informed at the reception that we had an early pick up time, breakfast was again not ready when we asked again for it. Allow at least between half an hour to wait for breakfast even if they tell you is gonna be on time.
Position was really good. The hotel is nice and have everything you need.

The accommodation is very basic but absolutely spotless. The location is simply incomparable a few minutes walk from the pyramids. The view from the roof terrace to the pyramids it is simply unforgettable you can just call it wonderful. Mahmud the owner of the hotel can organize all activities smoothly.
