Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

New ZealandFirst of all, Kareem was outstanding; communicated effectively, picked me out of the crowd at the airport during an early hour of the morning, gave me advice of where to eat, insights about the area of Cairo and genuinely cared about my time here. His staff also care about ensuring you have a great stay. This was very valuable, so thank you Kareem & your team. I felt safe and secure at the property. Plenty of space in communal areas & a great view towards the Nile. My room was large in size with air con and a nice view to the city below. A great spot to spend a couple of nights to explore Cairo!!

TurkeyThere was no housekeeping for the room for 4 days. There is a microwave, but no other kitchen items like a kettle or plates in the room. You can take those from the shared kitchen, but I didn’t because of cleaning issues. No bath amenities or slippers. I already knew there wouldn’t be, so that was expected and totally fine for me. Quick note: cleanliness is an issue here—just like in many places in Cairo, even luxury ones. So be ready for that.
The hostel is on the 8th floor of a building, converted from an apartment—very young hostel style with a vintage look. I stayed in a room with a dedicated bathroom and Nile view. The view is nice—just like in the photos. The place is super central. As a tourist, you can even walk to some cool restaurants and coffee spots nearby without being disturbed (which is super rare in Cairo). Overall, it was a nice and expected stay.

GermanyThe bathtub is old and the shower door is not closing well. Since the hostel is in front of the main road it is very hectic and noisy during the day & night (just to keep in mind if you are looking for a silent vacation).
The location is amazing, it s very close to Zamalek main attractions. Kareem is very kind and friendly. The beds are very comfortable, and the place is constantly kept clean. There is a nice view from the balcony.

FranceThe only thing that I didn't like is that in the title it was written double or twins beds but they don't have double bed (of the category we booked).
The hostel is very nice and well located. We really appreciated that they let us check in early and leave our luggages until late. The bathroom is external but private and very big. We were scared about the noise, but it was totally fine.

NetherlandsExcellent budget option on Zamalek. Staff is super friendly and supportive. The bathroom could use an update, a bit outdated, and I had cold showers. On the other hand, the community room is nice and Internet was stable.

NetherlandsUnfortunately, the room I stayed in, is roadside. The great location of the hotel, also means there is a lot of noise from one of the busiest roads in the city.

- room is relatively big and placed on the 8th floor - location in zamalek is very good, although the hostel is placed on a highway and can be pretty noisy even during the night - staff is super friendly and helpful

MaldivesOverall it was a good experience and if I were to recommend anything it would be to add few signages outside the building.
Hotel location was good and convenient. Plenty of coffee shops in walking distance. Hotel is clean and well maintained. Host Karim was very attentive and contacted well in advance to check on the arrival time for smooth check-in.

The place was accessible to everything. Mr.kareem was an amazing host. The rooms are on the 8th floor, so it's relatively away from the bustling noise. So, we were able to get a good sleep. We had the room with an attached bath, and it came with an oven and a fridge. All were in working condition. Overall it was worth the money and we will definitely recommend this place.

SwitzerlandOur room was facing the Nile and being so close to the bridge and a main road can get noisy at times even with the windows closed. The wifi in the room was not strong but in the common areas it was ok.
The appartment is really nice and welcoming, our room had a partial view of the Nile and was very luminous. it was very clean and having a private fridge in the room was nice. it was very nice to meet Kareem, he was of great help and answered quickly to our requests every time. There are many restaurants and coffee places along the street where the appartment is located.

TurkeyWe stayed for 5 days, it would’ve been nice if they cleaned the room or at least gave new towels.
Location is good as it’s in the middle of everything, but for the same reason the traffic noise was bad. Nothing to do with the hostel itself, it’s just Cairo :)

We recently stayed at this hotel, located in the heart of Zamalek, a vibrant and central neighborhood in Cairo. The location couldn’t be more ideal, with close proximity to numerous restaurants, cafes, and essential services. Everything is within easy reach—banks, shops, and a variety of dining options—making this hotel a perfect base for exploring Cairo while staying connected to all conveniences. Another highlight of our stay was the warm welcome from Kareem, who went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable throughout our visit. From the moment we arrived, he was attentive, gracious, and readily available to meet our needs, adding a personal touch that made our stay even more enjoyable. His professionalism and kindness truly enhanced our experience.

United KingdomThere is some noise from the road as it's on a main road, but that is true almost everywhere in central Cairo! No toiletries provided but it's a hostel so that's to be expected.
The hostel owner Kareem picked me up from the airport and kindly waited a long time for my delayed flight. I booked a private double room and it exceeded my expectations. It was spacious and clean and came with some of the facilities of a hotel room. It also had its own balcony. The common area is chilled and has another balcony too. WiFi worked well for my basic use I only stayed for one night as planned but it did the job well. Kareem was friendly and check in was smooth. It's on the 8th floor but there is a lift.

SpainCairo is a very noisy city due to cars using their horns almost constantly. Despite being in the 8th floor, we could still hear a lot of noise coming feom one of the roads that connect zamalek to the rest of the city.
Zamalek is very easy and safe for a foreigner and it is surrounded by good restaurants, cafés etc. The hostel was very well located. Furthermore, Kareem is a very nice person that was available for us in case of need.
