Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

i had to book a mixed room and i didn't enjoy my roommates and the room was very small
it had a very central location, walking distance to lots of places and very easy to find. staff were nice

Very loud, people constantly coming in and out. One of the toilets in the bathroom was full of sick.

The bar on the roof closed before closing time. I usually like to sit on the rooftop bars and enjoy a frosty adult beverage before I retire for the night. I was abruptly shooshed out. by the attendant in the cafeteria area almost 20 minutes before closing. I understand that people get tired of working, but closing early is not the way when you have travelers that have been traveling all day trying to unwind before they go to sleep after all is service that should be provided, always at least until closing time before.
It was conveniently located towards the center of Barcelona, which is very nice to traverse the city.

The place was overrun with teenage school kids there on a school camp. This meant that none of the usual bar crawl events actually happened, because there were not enough people to make up the numbers. As a solo traveller I was disappointed because it took away from the social life of the hostel.

I don’t like that lockers not equipped with locks, you should buy it for 5 euro, towels also for rent 3,50 euro ., or for sale 6,50. Also would be nice to have curtains on beds and shelve for some stuff near bed. And the beds in our dormitory was creaking with every movement.
Bathroom was clean enough, hooks ,space for towels, everything were quite comfortable for this price. Also nice terrace with great view on Barcelona. Best location

Room not cleaned in 3 days, towels not possible to change for the whole week. Lot of noise from other guests during the night, personel not controlling what's happening during night hours.

The bathroom is really small and there is only one shower for lot of people. Not very clean as well. You have to pay to leave there your luggage after check-out
Nice location, the dining area is cool and you can just chill there, eat your own food or buy something at the bar. Overall the hostel is OK but it costs more than it is worth

No privacy in the beds at all when you sleep, I mean no curtains in your own bed and a bit noisy because the road next to the hostel is very busy in terms of traffic so bring earplugs to sleep
The location is great, right next to Passeig de Gracia and Casa Batlló and within a walking distance of Plaça Catalunya and La Pedrera and Diagonal avenue. The recepction is opened at night also, I came back at 2:30 AM and there were staff working.

They don't change towels daily. No shampoos, conditioner, shower gel provided. No kettle or even fridge in the room. No complimentary coffee or tea provided. The staffs in level 1 were very loud especially this morning around 9am. My room is nearby the cleaning room/staff room. They were all talking loudly in the morning. Someone keeps trying opening my door in the night. I am unsure who it was. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.
The property is really in a good location. It is very accessible with almost all tourist attractions. The metro is also nearby the property.

We only had our room cleaned 1 out of the 4 days and the reception workers were less than helpful with the matter
The location was extremely useful as it was in the heart of Barcelona and easy to get too with the Metro.

The bathroom was not great, especially the shower. It's not very practical. The atrium elevator doesn't work, or at least not always. Tip: there is another one that works. The staff could let you know that, but they don't talk a lot.
Great location at Passeig di Gracia. Our room was on the 6th floor and it had a balcony with an incredible view. Great price.

It is not that clean or comfortable at all. Really hard to have a good night of sleep. There is no kitchen, so you can’t cook there and the common spaces are close by 10pm, so you have no space to take a sit or eat.
Excellent location. Close to a lot of attractions in Barcelona and easy to arrive by public transportation. The staff is also amazing.

As in most hostels, the bathrooms need an upgrade. Mattresses too. There is also no point having a café without vegetarian & vegan options which is closed because they are cleaning. Serving coffee, tea, drinks is still possible while cleaning
Well run hostel, good staff, WiFi and facilities. More suitable for people who like to go out into the city at night in my opinion, than a quiet traveler like myself.
