United KingdomWe normally stay in airbnbs/self catering but had booked a hotel primarily to sort us out for breakfast. Breakfast was clearly listed as included in the price option we selected on the booking.com page when we booked. We were told on checking in that breakfast was not included. I said we did book breakfast and was told by staff to prove it. The booking email did not state either way and booking.com customer service said they could not see either way either and did nothing to help. There isn't much around the hotel for other places to get breakfast and we were not going to pay extra as we had already paid for breakfast in the price option we selected. We booked a superior room with a sea view. There is another skyscraper style office block directly between the hotel and the sea. You can see the sea but only if you stand in the corner of the window and look across. This was not made clear at time of booking. The shower was unsafe. There is a large carved out hole directly where your heels are, a basket for toiletries which is poorly placed and you bang your elbow on, and the shower is not thermostatic, so the temperature would swing quickly from warm to scalding. Because of the precarious hole near the plug it is difficult to jump out of the hot water. There was also a spotlight near the door that you cannot turn off unless you take the key card which turns off all the power in the room. It is not possible to sleep with this light on.
We arrived a little before check in time as there was a transfer from the airport included in our booking, and asked if it was possible to check if the room would be ready (and said there was no problem if not and we would come back later). The staff member seemed a bit annoyed but did check us in which we appreciated. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.

Perfect stay for our 5-night conference visit! The hotel's location directly opposite the conference venue was ideal. Our room was well-proportioned and immaculately maintained. The gym was surprisingly well-equipped - definitely above typical hotel standards. Breakfast offered excellent quality and variety each morning. The adjacent shopping mall was very convenient, with many dining and shopping options. The hotel strikes an outstanding balance between business and leisure amenities. While not in the historic centre, the modern surroundings and easy access to amenities made our stay comfortable and convenient and highly recommended for business travellers!
