Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomWe would have appreciated a larger room, but as the building is very old, and included en-suite facilities, we were happy.
We didn't have breakfast as we like to go out to a café for the experience. We could have had coffee, cakes etc.

United StatesNothing.
The hosts, Miguel and Gemma, were wonderful. They were very helpful and friendly and really made us feel welcome- almost like we were staying in their home rather than just renting a room. The hostal was clean, comfortable and less than a 5 minute walk to the main plaza, Plaza Zocodover. It is a basic, simple hostal with charm. The entrance is on a quiet street behind the main commercial street. Our room was on the side facing the Main Street but it was extremely quiet. Sound proof sliding patio sliding door. Firm mattresses and a nice shower. We enjoyed our stay at this hostal that it was sad to leave.

United StatesI'll start with Miguel Angel and Gema. We couldn't have asked for better hosts; they are the warmest people we've ever met - we became instant friends. Beside recommending sights and eateries (which were all spot on, btw), we chatted over coffee each morning and talked over plans and got great local info about the city. The hostal itself is a cozy dollhouse, tucked away on a back lane just off the main commercial street, between the main plaza and the cathedral, surrounded by, but secluded from, shops and restaurants. Our room was clean and comfortable, and Gema kept us well supplied with snacks and bottled water. We are definitely staying there again the next time we visit Toledo.

South KoreaThe heat level of shower is warm but not sufficiently hot.
Excellent location, hospitality, cleanness, sufficiency of disposables are at the most high level. It was however the day to day interactions with the host couple that we could have felt like old friends happened to be our host for long trip to another continent.

Outstanding communication, easy to find, and close to everything, our hosts provided us with tips on places to see as well as greeted and checked with us daily to ensure we had slept well, everything was to our liking and if they could assist us in any way. Can’t say enough about what a wonderful experience our entire stay was, definitely where we will book again, easy 10 stars!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

CanadaWe had a self contained suite and we were provided with good coffee and a selection of breads for breakfast. The kitchen was extremely well equipped with lots of dishes, good knives, a dishwasher and a clothes washer. We only made breakfast but you could cook here if you wished. The whole apartment was extremely well equipped --iron , ironing board, clothes rack for drying clothes, soap, shampoo etc. It was essentially brand new. Big closet in separate bedroom with lots of hangers and bedside tables with drawers.. It had a good sized dining area and a nice little living room with a TV. It was a quiet location at night and it was perfect for wondering all over the old city! The hosts were super friendly and always available to help you out!

United StatesThat we had to leave!
Our family stayed in multiple rooms here for several days and it was an absolutely marvelous experience. The entire hostel is Immaculately clean, tastefully decorated, plus the hosts Manuel Angel and his wife Gemma treated us like family right from the beginning. In the morning they had a variety of little pastries and coffee, a warm greeting and plenty of insider suggestions for places to see and eat at. The beds were sooo comfortable, towels thick and soft, all areas were air conditioned. We’ve stayed in many hostels throughout Spain, but Posada de Zocodover left one of the best impressions of any. Easily earns their 10 out of 10 ranking, something I don’t give very often.

AustraliaMiguel and Gemma were terrific hosts and went out of their way to help and give advice. It was great staying in such an historic old building with typical wooden ceilings. The hotel is situated in the historic part of Toledo near the Alcazar and Cathedral but so many other interesting places too. I’d definitely recommend staying in this hotel for a few nights to discover the wonders of Toledo. Loved it.

BelgiumNothing comes to mind.
Toledo is a special place. Don't plan a one-day-visit. It would be a pity. We stayed four nights in this hostal. It is central and well located with a very personal touch thanks to the owner. He will inform you about everything you want to know about Toledo and will do the extra mile to help you. Because Toledo's streets are confusing he guided us through them to show us a nice place to have breakfast. Our room was all we needed: good beds, clean and quiet (even if it is right in the center). Just what you need to enjoy Toledo. Everything was fine about the hostal. We only struggled sometimes with the hilly and confusing street lay-out of Toledo, but that is something from the past and it is also the undeniable charm of the city. Just get lost and find out that you walked over 1 kilometer for something that was only 200 meters further.

United KingdomAbsolutely nothing.
In my nearly eight years of solo travelling this is by some distance the best place in which I have stayed. First and foremost, Miguel Angel and Gema are the perfect hosts: nothing is too much for them, from giving accurate directions and welcoming me warmly on my (late) arrival to a genuinely joyful greeting every morning and personal recommendations for places to visit and to eat and drink, all of which were great. The building and room are quirky, in the best possible way, comfortable and with great air conditioning. There were little things in reception - coffee, cakes and biscuits. The location is wonderful, literally minutes from all the sites of interest - for something out of the ordinary try the Museo Cromatico, with a cocktail and wonderful music. Just go!!

SpainCan't think of anything we didn't like
Miguel Angel and his wife are the most welcoming hosts we have ever come across, they make you feel nothing is too much trouble . They run a lovely little boutique hotel right in the centre . It's quiet and comfortable. They even have a small juice, cake, coffee area in the lobby for a help yourself free breakfast . Their help with taxis , visits and recommendations where to eat was great. Also there was a deluge and some flooding on the morning we were leaving and the taxi couldn't get through, so Miguel Angel took us in his own car to the station. I would definitely recommend this place .

This darling boutique hostel/hotel is family run by Michael and Gema....they are an amazing couple that take great pride in their hotel and service. The rooms are full of character and right in the heart of the historic district. Everyday we had a new adventure right at our fingertips, and were sent off with a smile and greeted with enthusiasm upon return. The personal hospitality and service was exceptional, something which is rare these days. Heartily recommend this place for anyone's visit.

United StatesIf there was a luggage rack it would have been perfect and gotten a score of 10.
The location was fantastic for being able to walk to all the major historic sites. The owners, Miguel and Gemma, were very friendly and helpful. Miguel helped us find a restaurant with a big screen t.v. where we could watch Arsenal, our favorite Premier League team, play a match which meant a lot to us. The room and bathroom were very clean. The room was quiet with good air-conditioning and I had the best nights of sleep that I'd had in a long time. I have arthritis and fibromyalgia and getting good sleep is often difficult for me so this was a rare treat to get 4 nights in a row of excellent sleep.

Everything! The hosts are located nearby and cannot do enough to make you feel welcomed or to help in any way. They were lovely. The apartment was perfect for us. It is comfortable, well equipped and the position is amazing. It is right in the centre. It is quiet and peaceful even though it is in the centre of town and we heard very little noise. United StatesThere was nothing uncomfortable about it for me.
This hostel was in such a good location that it was easy to move everywhere. Above all, Michael, the owner of the hostel who was born and raised in Toledo, kindly told me about Toledo's good restaurants and travel tips, so I was able to spend a very fruitful time. (He even gave tips on the menu that should be ordered at the recommended restaurant. I loved it!) He and his wife were as kind as relatives, and even though they were hostels, they provided room cleaning and free bottled water. If I go to Toledo again next time, I really want to stop by again.
