Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaStairs are quite steep. Staff offer to carry bags etc, but no elevator so be conscious of this if you have mobility limitations. Needed to run water for extended amount of time for it to get hot. Once hot it was great.
Great position. Staff lovely and very helpful. Easy walking access to areas of interest.

United KingdomHaving to wait for the security door to be opened when entering and leaving the building was mildly inconvenient, though given the amount of foot traffic in the area the need for such a door was clear
Great location in old town, a short walk from the cathedral. Building has a lot of character, with a pleasant atrium and a roof terrace. Room was basic but good value for the price and was clean, warm and had everything I needed.

Friendly staff. Room was basic but clean and comfortable. Very Spanish. Location was quiet but only few minutes walk from main tourist sights.

United Arab EmiratesNo elevator, the bed and the room smells
The room is very spacious but has a smell maybe coming from the bathroom all though the room is clean. The bed was very uncomfortable, it's very hard I was having a back pain the next day. And no elevator so you need to carry your bags. The staff is very kind and help you carry them.

CanadaOur twin bed room was small and the window opened onto the 2nd floor seating area. Fortunately this allowed us access to additional space in which to sit and read.
Well priced and located. The bathroom was recently renovated. The room and bathroom were very clean.

United KingdomThe room is small, we even can’t close the bathroom door, and we need to stand in the bathtub then we can take a shower. The noise is also a problem, we can hear neighbors’s talk.
The location is good, close to many main attractions. Staffs were very friendly.

SwedenBed could have been comfier. There is a practice school for flamenco in the building during the evenings så bring earplugs if you go to bed early.
Excellent location. Near ol the attractions but relatively quiet. Though in Seville you really do not need to stay in the old center - because it's so renovated that the feeling is almost lost in theese quarters. Clean and fresh room. Large bathroom. Beautiful setting with decorated atrium. Great value when you book early!

United KingdomThe bathroom in the bedroom was cramped. The toilet is badly positioned and there is hardly any leg room when sitting on the toilet. The building is old so it is to be expected that doors don't seal from top to bottom however I did not expect there to be nearly a 10 centimetre gap under the door of the bedroom. I expected an under door seal/brush to help. This large gap allowed a lot of artificial light to come into my room which caused problems for sleeping. The alleyway echoes the voices of passing people and the door window did not shut out this noise. As mentioned I was a bit surprised that the morning receptionist, albeit very friendly, was also the kitchen runner serving breakfast. Is there not enough staff?
Hostal Sierpes is only 5 minutes walk from the cathedral as long as you don't forget which alley to take to return to the hostal. Only the bedroom was very large and the balcony in the room over the main door was a bonus! There is a chair in the bedroom so you can sit on the balcony. The breakfast was an additional cost but it was a fair price for what you get to eat - a hot drink, a cold drink, two halves of a toasted roll with cheese and cooked ham and the usual butter, jam and nut spread pods. The reception staff were extremely friendly and the morning receptionist doubled up as the breakfast server which was a bit of a surprise but at least there was a lot of smiling!
