Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe Wifi was poor. There was supposed to be a router on the second floor but we could not get it to work.
The staff; Virginia was wonderful. She made us feel at home and was very helpful in getting tickets to the flamenco festival performance.

Lovely hostess and atmosphere. Very helpful for planning things to do. Very nice breakfast and prime location in a quiet side of town, yet very close to the centre. The building is also charming and in the local style with a lovely little roof terrace.

Everything! Warm welcome, the staff are from Jerez and can give good recommendations (I went to a lovely bar on their recommendation) and the roof terrace is stunning! Minutes from the Alcazar, the Cathedral and bars/restaurants. My photo was taken from the terrace at night.

United KingdomThis is a beautiful small hotel with the most warm and welcoming host. Staff couldn’t do enough to assist us in our visit to Jerez. The accommodation is so close to the old city you look up to the cathedral . The bars and restaurants close by an amazing few days. We fell in love with Sherry. Thank you Virginia for making our trip so enjoyable.

United KingdomThe location in the heart of the old town in unbeatable, a few minutes walk to all the action in Jerez. The townhouse has been restored with care and great taste and is one of the only options to stay in this magical part of Jerez as the old town restoration progresses. Virginia went out of her way to accommodate our late arrival, parking needs and all our questions. Her recommendations for things to do and where to eat are gold. Thank you again for everything Virginia.

Super location in the centre but quiet. Very friendly and helpful staff who gave recommendations of places to visit. We visited at the end of November and Jerez and La Gitanilla were beautifully decorated for Christmas and we enjoyed the zambombas of the town! View from the roof was amazing and honesty bar a treat.

SpainAlthough my room had windows, they didn’t open to the outdoors, which I didn’t expect. I also felt the lighting in my room could have been warmer—though I realize I’m being a bit picky here!
The beds were exceptionally comfortable, and I appreciated having a heater in the room, as I tend to get cold very easily. The decor was beautifully designed, both in the room and throughout the hotel, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and everything was impeccably clean.

United Arab EmiratesThe rooms were a bit too small and uncomfortable with almost no space for the luggage.
The staff were super friendly and gave us lots of information about the area. We also enjoyed the top terrace and the fact that it was walking distance to the center which made it easier to find places for dinner. It was super silent so we had a great sleep.

United KingdomJust the building works around the hotel, but that is not the hotels fault and when finished will not be a problem. Would not stop us going back.
Location is poor currently as there is a lot of building work going on in the street. However the owner more than made up for everything, she was so so helpful. Arranged in advance of us arriving a visit to the famous Horses school and a fabulous real evening in a Flamenco bar.

United KingdomNot a criticism of the property, the roads directly by the property are being relaid. Made arrival a bit more complicated, but excellent directions got around that. Looks a bit ugly, but should be complete by early October (2024) and normal service restored.
Relaxed feeling and personal. Great location and perfect communication regarding arriving by car. Excellent parking in underground car park 50 metres from accommodation. Loida checked me in and gave great local recommendations, concise but personal, the best check in experience of this 15 stop tour.

Really charming. Only 10 rooms so the manager is quick to get to know each guest and give them her time and recommendations. Lovely breakfast on the roof terrace. Honesty bar operation so whether you need water or a cheeky glass of vino it’s all very accessible. Excellent location.

United KingdomThe area is under development and the road in front of the property is a dust track with workers laying stone. This was not made clear when we booked and has apparently been like that for a few years. In our room the shower was modified for disabled use and water came out all over the floor. We were able to dry it with towels but a better seal would be worth exploring
Virginia our host was superb. Her friendly and helpful approach was amazing. She treated us like house guests and it felt like being at someone’s home not a hotel. The flexibility re checking in and out was excellent.

BelgiumLa Gitanilla is a lovely ‘chocolate box’ hotel in the centre of Jerez, close to the cathedral. It’s a classic style ‘Jerez House’ converted in an hotel. The roof terrace is really the cherry on the cake with lovely views at the cathedral. Unfortunately, I just stayed for one night and didn’t have the luck to enjoy the terrace completely. The rooms and the hotel are very clean. I give La Gitanilla top marks for cleanliness. On arrival, I was welcomed by a very friendly lady who was kind enough to help me finding a parking space. Very appreciated! The rooms are comfortable and have enough plug sockets. The toiletries are all organic and packed in an environment friendly way. They also have an honesty bar with a good selection of snacks and drinks. La Gitanilla was my lucky pick for a happy stay in Jerez.
