Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SpainThe bathrooms on my floor (fourth) were very stinky and the temperature of the water in the showers was difficult to control. During booking I wasn't able to select a room for females only and there wasn't enough space in the bathroom to get ready in the morning since I was staying in a shared room with men.
I liked the friendliness of the staff and the ability to leave my bags at the front desk before and after check in. I liked the ability to lock away my belongings during the day while I was exploring the city.

GermanyCurtains on the beds would improve the stay, more privacy. I'm not sure if the duvets are going to be changed after every customer, made me feel a bit uncomfortable.

IrelandThe bathroom and WC facilities can be more clean daily (4 days stayed - 2 days was really clean); the room is facing a busy road, which can be very noisy (I know it's fallas time, but still...); My food was taking by someone, but I was happy someone would be fed; There wasn't a hanger for clothes or bath towel etc.
Location; Staff; how close to the Cafes and Shops etc.

North MacedoniaRooms were pretty small especially if fully booked it's hard to move around and have space. Lockers were good but very loud, awkward if others are sleeping in room. Showers felt like they lack privacy
The location was absolutely perfect - many interesting shops and sights all in a walkable distance in the center and easy to find. Staff was friendly and helpful!

Czech RepublicIt was a bit loud in the evenings and sometimes during the night. In the shower was only cold water.
It suprised me, that it was very clean. Although the kitchen was not satisfactory for that many people, I would recommend staying there. It is nice, that you can leove your laguage there even after your check-out, helped me a lot.

SpainCold floors, the building is pretty old so the flooring is made of very beautiful classic tiles but in winter that means it's uncomfortable. The ceiling in the room looks like it's under repair, there was a large red handkerchief-looking fabric covering most of it but when the heating was on, we're not too sure where the air went as there's a gap between the wall and ceiling. The bathroom stalls are super small, barely any room to move around. Nowhere to change or put dry clean clothes while you shower. Not sure how many people use it but in high season I'd imagine a terrible mess.
Very convenient location, easy walk into the centre. Just across the street from the bus stop to the train station. The room was spacious, with a clothing rack and a desk. There were towels and linen. There's also a kitchen area on the top floor of the building, with a coffee machine and pots and pans for cooking. You can label and leave food stuff in the fridge as well.

Ireland1) it was not clear who could use the common area in the red hostel .. probably would be more comfy be at the twin hostel the Purple Nest to socialising ( 300 meters away) as I felt some ppl in the Red one were there a long time.. I felt in the Red one there were not the usual ppl you would find in a hostel .. highly recommend to use the Purple one to socialize!!! 2) The shower on the 4th floor was an issue (too cold or too hot ).. I have been advised by a girl that was there traveling like myself that the trick was to leave the sink outside the shower open while you take a shower to have it at the right temperature
1)The people that work at Red Nest are fab 🤩 everyone of them was very helpful 2)Location Is a plus for sure for anyone that wants to visit the city in a couple of days Re Valencia : be mindful that the metro in Valencia does not run all night so if you have an early flight check at the metro station what is the best time to get the metro or book a taxi in advance to get to the airport 3) I did the free walking tour with Sonia which is exactly what you need to visit and know all about the old town and the history 😉

UkraineHot water - there was none, you need to wait in the shower for a few minutes before the cold becomes lukewarm. In dorms, there is no individual lighting or socket.
Excellent location, lots of amenities like fridge, laundry - which makes it suitable for long stay travellers. Each bed has dedicated storage space, great size of the room

AustraliaThere was so much noise coming from other rooms at all hours. It was really disappointing that other guests did not respect quiet time (slamming doors and shouting at 4am). I know this isn’t strictly the hostels responsibility but maybe more signage would be helpful. The top sheet in our double bed was way too small for a double, it curled up at each end and really couldn’t be used properly - this made us quite uncomfortable as we were partially laying on the bare mattress. The showers did not have sufficient hooks for clothes and the shower was on a timer (you had to press it several times). It was hard to change the water temperate.
This hostel is in the best part of Valencia! It couldn’t get better. The check in staff were extremely friendly and accomodating, letting us check in early as the room was ready. The room had a good amount of space and the bed was comfortable. The air conditioner worked really well! There was also complimentary bottled water which was lovely. The shared bathrooms were clean and very quiet (never ran into anyone in the women’s). It was good for one night’s stay.
