Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomWe did unfortunately experience significant noise when staying on the 6th floor from the bar/ restaurant/ kitchen above us. On a Friday night it went on until after 2AM and we were unable to sleep even with earplugs. It did stop much earlier the previous night which wasn’t so much of an issue for us. We did complain to reception and they asked them to keep the noise down which did help but it didn’t stop. They were very helpful and it sounds like it’s a known issue when staying on the top floor so they moved us to the 4th floor the next day. We did not have any issues with noise when moved. I wouldn’t let this out you off but I wouldn’t stay in the 6th floor again personally. The shower did flood the rest of the bathroom after use. It was fine for us and we used extra towels to mop it up but might be an issue for someone with mobility problems. You could shower in the bathtub and not in the open shower but you wouldn’t be able to use the rainfall shower. Minor issue but maybe important for some.
Lovely hotel located in the centre of Bilbao. Close to shops, restaurants and the old town. The closest airport bus stop was an easy 10 minutes walk away. The area is safe and we did not have an issues walking around in the evening. Very clean and all the staff were extremely friendly. The rooftop bar was a nice addition and great for an evening drink. The spa great and we had massages which I’d highly recommend. The spa is extra but we were allowed to use it for ‘free’ for 30 minutes with our booked treatments. We were the only ones in there which was nice. There’s a small pool and a sauna. Despite it being central, the windows were soundproofed so you could not hear outside noise from the street from the 4th or 6th floors. We did have some noise issues from the bar/ restaurant above us in our first room. Free water replenished daily in the bedrooms. We loved staying here and would stay here again!

United StatesNot the Hotels fault but something to be aware of. It is located in the center and the streets surrounding the hotel are very lively and depending on where you are in the hotel the nightly noise levels are intermittently quite high (random people shouting at 0400, but also trash collection early in the morning) and even though the double glazing keeps some of the noise out I did wake up several times even though I am not a light sleeper. Ask for a quiet room if you are.
Hotel staff is very professional and exceedingly helpful. We asked if they perhaps had a large computer monitor for use (working from the hotel for multiple days) and they located and delivered one to the room. Clean and well kept facility. Roof terrace is great (good mock/cocktails). Easy walking distance most things.

United KingdomBooking.com does not mention there is a surcharge for pool or hot tub. It is 20e/per hour and it’s not special. So disappointed by that

United StatesSome services like laundry are not available weekends, which was a surprise for such a high scale hotel. Even though the restaurant is closed Sunday and Monday, breakfast is available, but is not evidently clear from concierge instructions.
The hotel is in a privileged central location in Bilbao, with easy access to the Center, the ria (and thus the Guggenheim Museum area), and the old city. The facility is sophisticated and intimate. Room decor is sharp and elegant; toiletries and accessories are top notch. The restaurant is a gastronomic marvel whose chef is a Michelin-rated Basque star. The terrace bar is terrific: the overall ambiance and the drink selection are the perfect prelude to a night on the town or a great dinner. The breakfast is well appointed and beautifully executed. Perhaps the best thing about the hotel is the staff. Everyone from the waiters to the bartenders and the concierge are some of the most hospitable and knowledgeable staff one will encounter in Spain. They're very proud of their city and their hotel, and it shows.

AustraliaThe high extra charges for the on site pool and spa. Didn’t use as a result. With so many great dining options in Bilbao, wouldn’t bother booking in to the hotel restaurant. While it has a celebrity chef connection, the menu was just ok but service and cost not up to scratch.
Great location in the heart of the cbd..easy walk to the old town and main tourist sights. Beautifully designed and very comfortable rooms…excellent bathrooms. Breakfast was very good and included some à la carte items also.

HungaryI strongly recommend tgis hotel for everyone. It located in the city center near to e.g. the Guggenheim Musem and the old town. The hotel was super-clear, cosy and comfortable, breakfast was great and the rooftop bar is amazing served with tasty food and good wines. But the cherry on the top was Irene and Pablo the hotel staff who were absolutely amazing, friendly and helpful. Many thanks for your service! :)

NetherlandsAt the checkout we have been asked for a charge for using the spa , we had to clarify that no one mentioned that it was chargeable when we checked in . It would be recommendable to clarify what is accessible for free upon check in for other hotel guests to avoid confusion.
Hotel room is spacious and clean. hotel is located in an excellent area , with easy access to Bilbao attractions.

IrelandThe staff in this hotel are second to none - welcoming, insightful and friendly. After receiving an upgrade to one of the hotel's finest rooms, we had a problem with our shower and the staff showed no delay in providing us with a completely new room. We will definitely return to this hotel the next time we are in Bilbao.

ItalyService of the restaurant was very slow and disorganized Limited menu at the restaurant despite everything we had was very good Small spa with access to be paid, even for guests of non ‘basic’ rooms Difficult to park in the street to leave our luggage (parking place is 5/7 min away) - however we had been informed of what to do in advance
Overall design of the hotel, both the building and the rooms. Scent in all environments. Amenities. Room spacious and very well organized Very well positioned to go around Bilbao both old and new area Superb concierge - an amazing native guy who knows really well Bilbao and really does the extra mile for you Nice roof top terrace bar

United KingdomDesign of bathroom meant the floor was flooded after a shower. Couldn't eat in the restaurant as it was fully booked.
We were upgraded which was a nice suprise. Room was quiet and comfortable. Roof terrace was nice but weather wasn't great - took a long time to get a drink both times we went, staff seemed busy/inexperienced perhaps.
