Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomAnyone booking needs to know there are no staff on site. You have to send photo of passport in advance and only get access details on day of travel. It works but adds to the stress and isn't clear when booking. Also, anyone getting up in the night for toilet will trigger bright light in dormitory. Although bunks have curtains, everyone is disturbed.
Clean, good kitchen and communal area

GermanyThe lockers were too small and you have to bring your own handlock and I (personal opinion!) missed the reception or staff around in case I have questions.
The rooms are simple but comfortable and the kitchen/living room on the groundfloor is beautiful and has everything you need :)

RussiaKitchen was not great (didn’t have basic ingredients like salt or tea, no stove), the street is in a sketchy neighbourhood, however you can take a different route through the main street and it’s completely ok

ChinaThe light in the room is a bit annoying. It’s motion-sensible and you cannot turn off the main light. Each time someone got up during midnight the light would turn on. And the curtain for the bunk couldn’t cover the whole bed, so you could be easily woken up by the light.

PortugalThe kitchen lacks a stovetop and an oven (only a microwave and kettle are available to warm up food and prepare hot beverages). Since there is no physical reception, the check-in and check-out procedures can be a bit confusing and impersonal.
Great location, in a quiet street but very near the city centre and the major attractions. The facilities are good and regularly cleaned, including the bathrooms. The common kitchen has cutlery, cups and plates for common use, as well as cleaning supplies. The beds are comfortable and the pod-like arrangement allows for privacy and cosiness, without it being stuffy or claustrophobic. The simple finishings in plywood are comfortable in winter and quiet.

Considering being a hostel it was really good. Room was clean, own bathroom, basic but all necessities there. Orga worked well though all via online / whatsapp. In walking distance to oldtown and sights. Would choice it again.

Bosnia and HerzegovinaThe street in which the hostel is located is a bit scary, I walked several times it was almost always empty or there was a group of men staring. As a female solo traveller I didn't dare to go out by myself at night. Also it didn't have many opportunities to meed other people as a solo traveller. I would like to mention that, before booking, I checked if they had a hairdryer option-which they were supposed to have. But when I washed my hair and asked them via wa - they simply replied that this option is not available!
It was really clean, the kitchen was fully equiped. I stayed im a private room which was really comfortable.

MoroccoYou have to go to other sites to leave the luggage either before check in or after check out. if there is a place on site that would be great. The light motion detector is always on so everything anyone moves in the room the light is on. it could be better is this can be turned of somehow especially every bed has its own light.
Easy check in and the pass was sent immediately on the day of arrival. Location is great in the historic area. Everything you may need are located in walking distance. Got the chance to be there when Pilar 2024 was held so enjoyed it.

New ZealandSheets are provided but not towels, including there being no handtowels in the dorm room. The private dorm bathroom is not a separate room, meaning the shower and sink are open to the rest of the room. So, there is less privacy and more noise from other guests.
The location is convenient for exploring the city and the decor is cute and comfy. It was not staffed in person but there were good instructions around the common areas.
