Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

New ZealandSoundproofing is poor between rooms, and the metal staircase is uncarpeted so noisy. The beds did not have mattress protectors and I found some significant yellow stains as I left. The air vents were dusty and occasionally smelled a bit funny. The windows in my interior room facing the inner courtyard could not be opened for fresh air.
The staff were friendly and kindly helped me change rooms due to a problem with my AC unit. The kitchen is well-equipped with appliances. The hostel is well-located: only a 10min walk to the city centre, 2min to bus stops, and 5min to corner shops and laundromats. The area feels fairly safe. I highly recommend the free walking tour, our guide Diego was great.

United KingdomAmazing hostel, beautifully designed throughout, free coffee (!), real plants in the common area, comfortable bed & light-blocking curtains. Also, some kind of forest-like air freshener, perhaps essential oil diffused.

United StatesI had booked a 6 bed female dorm but they put me in a 12 bed mixed dorm. They moved me after I told them they put me in the wrong room, but I don’t know why this had happened. There are curtains on the beds, but they don’t close all the way. The lockers under the bed are small and the doors did not shut all the way. The room was very small and cramped. If you have a bed in the corner only one person could be using the lockers at a time. The lights in the room are automatic so anytime someone moved they would turn on, which was difficult at night when people came back late. There was no door to the bathroom area, only a sink and one toilet stall and one shower stall. The door to the toilet did not lock
The common area and kitchen access were nice. Was on a quiet street but walkable to the old town

Costa RicaSpiteful woman welcomed me at my arrival, the evening of August 24/2023. Out of the countless hostels I’ve visited in the 41 countries I’ve traveled to, never I have met a person so hateful. Just plain bad. She even denied to rent me a towel after I’ve been traveling for 4 hours from Madrid and I really needed to clean myself. Also as others commented in here, it’s true there are a lot of drugs dealers and sketchy people right next to the hostel. Many live in the same street the hostel is located at. If you’re a woman I wouldn’t advise to go outside after dark. I was able to do it because a couple of guys staying at the hostel walked with me in the dark and rough allies and I was starving. Even though the customer service was beyond awful and the facilities about a 2 out of a 10. I’m very thankful I had a roof over my head and a bed to crash for the two nights I stayed, Pablo, the gentleman who answered my call was very polite and helpful. I didn’t see him at all though. I advise to other travelers to spend a bit more in a well rated hotel so then you have yourself a nice stay in Zaragoza because it’s truly a nice city. P.s. To the unhappy woman in reception, I pray to god, your life gets better. Only people who are very unhappy can treat others the way you treat people. ( I said people) because as soon as you left I met two germans in the common area who also complaint about your treatment towards them. May god send happiness to you and yours. Be well ms.

United StatesI arrived by bus from Barcelona at approximately 11:15 pm. I coordinated with the hostel ahead of time. The night clerk was drinking wine & half inebriated! I waited outside the door for 30 minutes trying to get inside. The clerk's English was poor & not as advertised. I would fire the guy immediately!
Not much - a terrible experience!
