Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomBathroom flooded after every shower, which was inconvenient when you're staying as a group - it's more of a wet room.
Great location, clean and functional room. Quick responses on whatsapp from staff although no staff or reception physically present.

IsraelTiny room, crammed with furniture and trinkets and stuff. Overly focused on trying to be cool but the room is the size of a cabinet. The room was dark, even with all the lights on. There's no master switch so you need to turn off 4 different lights each time. The single bed was really small but maybe that's standard. I booked a bunk bed by mistake. But the worst thing was that the room was on the ground floor and the window was facing a bench where people would sit so I had zero privacy and had to close the dark curtain when changing, making the room even darker.
Great location, next to the train station and all the museums. Nice coffee included. Free tote bag and gym access. Clean. Yoga mats (but not space for yoga).

GreeceThere was a lot of noise from the busy main road outside the window, unfortunately I guess there's nothing they can do about that, but the fridge making noise all the time they can control - otherwise, perhaps earplugs could be provided to guests. There were one or two items missing from my room such as coffee and forks, and the kitchen is only open at set hours so I couldn't go in and look for them in there. There are only very bright lights in the room, it would've been nice to have a softer light for late at night - reading in bed with a powerful light on was not very cosy!
The room was nicely designed, it looks really good. A lot of stuff is provided, such as a kettle, some cutlery, a fridge, decent toiletries. The location is really convenient next to Helsinki central station. Overall I felt it was decent for the price I paid.

United StatesThere were people congregating outside the door smoking and the ashtray (outside the door) was overflowing. Maybe move the ashtray a bit further away from the door?
The location was close to everything and we were able to walk everywhere.

CyprusThe room was too small and so was the shower. Even though there was a curtain, the water was coming out and the whole bathroom was filled with water. As far as the room is concerned, we had two suitcases and they almost couldn’t fit. Also, some of the photos were misleading and showing the room bigger than it is.
The property was in the centre and the room was clean.

FinlandThis is more like a hostel than hotel. No personnel/service, no breakfast, no restaurant, no entrance (just a small door in an obscure corner). Sound isolation is not very good, squeaky doors and conversations from corridor were clearly heard in the room. The room is also very small and has no separate space for shoes or clothes. The corridor had some broken floor elements which gave a cheap feeling. Some dirty stains in the bathroom.
Location is great. Nice bonus features (bag, cookies)

TurkeyThe room we stayed was 201 which is first door next to the entrance. When other people walks in, naturally they clean their shoes out of snow by tapping in to the ground, in front of our room door. This makes huge noise especially at night. I woke up everytime somebody comes in and taps on the floor to clean their shoes. On the booking.com pictures rooms look like they have cabins for their showers but our room has curtain and whole bathroom gets wet after a shower.
Location and price is awesome.

IrelandNo towel change for the 3 days we stayed. No one came to upkeep the room. Also they only prepared room for for 2 adults although it was booked for 3. They did drop in extra sheets and towels for 3rd adult but we had to do up sofa bed ourselves. Also tv didn't work. Would have been nice to have it in the evening when we got home.
Room and bathroom spotless. Lovely welcome greeting. Location really good. I would recommend this accommodation if you were visiting Helsinki. Some really nice touches in room. Like spare phone charges and instant camera for use. Beds and pillows comfortable and room warm which was essential considering it was -14 outside.

Hong KongThe worse service hotel I lived at. No service at all! We lived total 3 nights, the room light was not functioning at the day I checked in, I texted the staff and they guaranteed to repair on the second day. At the end when we back to room on 2nd day night, it is still the same! Didn’t repair at all and not inform us…. When I text them, they said it’s coz they “do not have the right tools to fix it” If so, why dun inform us in advance rather than discover by ourselves? And why not to ask if we would like change to another room?! (The reply is “thank you for sharing your experience” then end) And then on the 3rd day, they texted to ask us if they could come to repair on day 4….. how ridiculous it is? They want to repair the light on our check out date…..

PortugalThe room was incredibly hot. The window only opens a bit which is understandable because it is on ground level. but the temperature was not controllable. The fan helped a bit but ultimately not enough.
The location is very central. The rooms are nice and have a lot of little amenities like hair dryer, refrigerator, etc. Rooms are clean.

AustraliaNo staff, so if there is a problem, (which there was), no help. They don't service the rooms, although someone did enter our room while we were out. Very dark, crampt room with no space to put your suitcase. Although the room was on level 2, this was the ground floor, and there was a sidewalk outside the window, which wasn't very private. Lots of cheesy notes and gimmicks (although the sticker across the door saying the room was 'really clean', it wasn't, was more reminiscent of a police seal because someone had been murdered within). It had all the ambience of a Soviet work camp or prison. What was truly indicative that the management has no concern about their customers, was when we called their phone number for help, they said the problem we had had occurred regularly, but the simple and inexpensive rectification hadn't been done. This is not a model for hotels in the future.
Excellent location above the Metro Station.

FinlandThe four large bolts that should attach toilet seat to the floor were missing. Because of this the toilet seat with water tank on top of it was unstable and waving from side to side; there was an obvious risk of it falling down which could cause water damage and make the toilet unusable. I reported this situation on the hotel website soon after checking in (no staff in this hotel) but nobody came to check it during my stay of two days.
Central location, within walking distance from the Helsinki Railway Station. Bigger of the two room types, above street level, and conveniently large size. Plenty of dishes and other utensils in the room. Good cleanliness standard.

FinlandBecause I had to stay one extra day in Helsinki, I extended my stay in this hotel by booking one more day at the beginning of my stay. Because the room type was different for the two bookings and the hotel is totally automated (no staff), I had to empty my room and check out after the first day and had to wait four hours before I could check in again. Very inconvenient and time consuming experience. Room was slightly below the street level and had a large window, so it was necessary to keep the curtains closed all the time. TV set didn't work.

United KingdomThe bathroom did not look like the photos, and felt pretty dingy. Annoyingly, the attachment on the tap for the showerhead kept coming off - it wasn't possible to screw it on securely. Never saw anything like that in a hotel before - definitely needs replacing! The bathroom also flooded if the shower was on for just a minute. I always turned it off when soaping etc, but it still flooded, including behind the toilet, and as there was no extractor fan the bathroom smelled unpleasant. I would definitely recommend replacing the bathroom in the off season - it's not hotel worthy... Other than that, a couple of small issues: - room was smaller than represented in photos, no space to put suitcases - no plug socket next to the bed on one side, which is unusual in hotels these days - step in the room between bed and bathroom, which makes going to the toilet at night a bit tricky - steps getting into the building, which are not wheelchair or pushchair friendly
The bedroom design is simple but aesthetically pleasing. The room overlooks tram lines and is above the metro line University, but it was surprisingly quiet and the curtains did a good job blocking out most of the summer night light. Appreciated that there was a fan as it was warm weather, and I appreciate there is usually no AC in northern Europe, especially in smaller hotels and old buildings. Customer service was good / responsive, via whatsapp - otherwise no staff to be seen. Toiletries provided smelled very nice. Kitchen (2 mins walk from the room) seemed well equipped, although we did not use it. The bedroom has a kettle and enough ground coffee for 4 cups (not replenished, but there is instant coffee in the kitchen) but no milk, so you need to buy it and can keep in the bedroom mini fridge or kitchen big fridge with provided labels. There is a small supermarket in the Metro station, which seems to close early on Sundays. I liked the location, was easy to get around via Tram and Metro, and walkable to most city centre sites. Bed was comfy, and we slept well.

ItalyNeed to take the stares to get to the hotel from the tram's stop: very problematic with a heavy luggage. I was alone in a room for 2 and it was really small, also with bunk beds. Room was clean but not the cleanest. The supermarket close to the apt is closed.
Nice staff. Nice welcome gifts in the room like free access to a related gym and a chocolate bar. Nice and fully equipped shared kitchen. Many foods are available for free. Close to many city sights but it's convenient to buy a full day public transport ticket.
