Meals in the restaurant were sometimes quite slow, but food always delicious and worth the wait.

We had a wonderful stay in Arona Taveuni! The property had just recently been purchased by new owners, Rod and Kathryn, who were very welcoming, and happy to offer their suggestions for activities and to assist with the bookings. The staff, whether the cooks, the housekeepers, the restaurant servers or the handyman were all lovely and seemed genuinely interested in interacting with the guests. The property, both the rooms and the grounds are very clean, tasteful, and super well maintained, and we really enjoyed having the outdoor room with some kitchen facilities. This is not the kind of hotel you go to if you wish to be close to nightlife or lots of restaurant options (there is just the restaurant at the hotel but it serves excellent food!). If like us, however, you are looking for peace and quiet and a lovely spot to relax you couldn’t do better! Also worth mentioning… We happened to get caught in Cyclone Rae the last day of our stay and Kathryn and Rod were terrific about ensuring that we had the latest information about flight cancellations, and reassured us about being able to accommodate us for the unforeseen extra night we had to spend on the island. It was also clear that the safety of their guests and staff was a top priority.

Nothing not too like

The whole place was beautiful. the Bures were amazing, and sea views from all rooms, pool and restaurant. The rooms were so comfortable and the decor so very well done. Staff were lovely and super helpful. The restaurant served really good food, with some dishes changed up every night. Kathryn and Rob were super hosts, and considering they only took the business over 7 weeks ago, I feel they have taken to it like ducks to water. I would definitely recommend a stay here. You won't be disappointed

No words can describe how much of a wonderful time we had at your resort. The new owners are very accommodating and have gone out of their way to make our stay exceptionally memorable. I would highly recommend this resort for couples and families alike. Rooms are very clean, as well the restaurant is phenomenal daily specials, wood fire pizza oven, smoothie bar, and a state of the art espresso machine that was in transit at the time of our stay however we are looking forward to enjoying it on our next visit! All the best to your new venture and we will for sure see you and stay at your resort again.

Staying at Aroha was like being in Paradise! Everything was perfect From when we were picked up at the airport until the minute we left! Rod & Catherine were perfect hosts. Large room with direct water views. It has a kitchenette for coffee/tea, and we had breakfasts there picked up the night before. The food at the restaurant also was excellent. Highly recommended to everyone, especially for romantic getaways. Diving at Taveuni Dive Sports was also fantastic. They pick you up in a local car.

Small, quiet property with super friendly staff and a great restaurant! From the moment we were picked up at the airport to the moment we left, the staff made us feel very welcome and did everything they could to make sure we had an amazing stay. They organized tours for us and the restaurant chefs even made sure there were special vegetarian meals available for us each day (in addition to the regular menu!). The bures are very comfortable and you are very close to the beach. Nice snorkelling if you go far enough - and you can even spot reef sharks at sunset if you’re lucky!

For someone like myself who doesn’t handle bugs well, there were the tiny brown ants in the bathrooms and a gecko in my bedroom. There was bug spray available for the ants. This certainly wouldn’t be an issue for a lot of people, but it was rough for me. Other than that, I had an AMAZING TIME and I love the warmth!!!

Everyone was super friendly, the view was lovely, having the ocean as a lullaby was amazing! I had never hiked in my life and the 10k Coastal Walk was new to me, the sights were beautiful!!! Even snorkeling for the first time, that was certainly memorable. Real coconut cream and I now love papayas. :-D

We had room one. We looked out at trees ( pretty ones) and a tall hedge, which blocked the view of the beach. We thought that vegetation could have been trimmed to allow guests to see out. Room two had somewhat of a view, and rooms three, four and five had full views. We had difficulty getting our hot water started on a few occasions and had to ask for help (which came almost immediately.) We ate at the restaurant for the included continental breakfast, and purchased our dinners. The food was good but too many of the dishes were fried. We liked sitting at the tables closest to the beach, but had to move a few times because a couple of guests were smoking cigarettes near us. Aroha should have a designated smoking area far away from the dining area.

The grounds were beautiful. Our spacious room was nicely decorated. We had a separate small kitchen area with some dishes, utensils, microwave, refrigerator, table and chairs, French drip coffee maker, electric kettle, and coffee and milk, which was refilled daily. We enjoyed sitting on the patio with coffee in the morning, catching up on news, reading, etc. Aroha provides a portable Wi-Fi device for each room so you have wi-fi all over the grounds and beyond. We enjoyed the outdoor shower. It was nice sitting by and swimming in the pool. The dining area was also very pretty. The small beach was just a few steps away and featured gorgeous sunsets. The staff was very friendly, happy, and helpful. It was very easy to arrange transportation to excursions such as Lavena Coastal walk and village tours. It was an easy walk to the local village, where we looked in on Sunday mass, and walked around the grounds there.

Great king sized bed but a bit too firm. Sometimes a long wait for food at restaurant but that is pretty typical in Fiji and the staff were so lovely and the location so beautiful it didn’t matter much.

Beautiful location, very friendly staff, great list of activities to book such as snorkelling trips and waterfall walks. Lovely quiet beachfront bures. Good snorkelling out the front at mid to high tide. Good quality reasonably food at the restaurant - ranged from wood fired pizzas and burgers through to delicious grilled fresh fish and daily specials. Loved the outdoor shower!

The room was stunning, and extremely well kept and clean! The lighting can be improved but it was a very mild issue, because we would mostly enjoy the beautiful island and their restaurant!

Aroha is a stunning accomodation to book. Denise and Ngaire are amazing hosts, that go out of their way to ensure that you are booked into the tourist activities! Their staff welcome you and make you feel like home!
