We had the most wonderful time at Bastide de Bellegarde, everything far exceeded my expectations, it was by far one of the highlights of our trip to France. Brian was the most wonderful host you could ask for. He went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, but also so delightful to talk with and learn about the history of the home. The decor and rooms were gorgeous and impeccably clean, it was like being in a beautiful French dream home. The beds were extremely comfortable! The breakfast was delicious, fresh pastries, fruit, cheese, omelettes, and more, we were set for the day. One of the highlights of our stay was the five star dinner we had our last night. I’m still dreaming of it! Best meal I had in Provence. We will absolutely be back as soon as it’s possible!!

Brian is an extremely gracious and professional host, who made us feel at home as of the first minute. We also loved the decoration and vibe of the house, and were impressed by the amazing breakfast! Dinner was also really tasty, all while being in a beautiful setting. The location is perfect - just outside of Avignon so nice and quiet but also only 5 mins away from the town. We will definitely come back when we’re in the area!

How nice Brian (the host) is, how well-decorated the house is with lots of attention to detail. The general atmosphere in the house was excellent and we felt very comfortable during our stay. The dinner was truly delicious. We felt very special with some great food, wine and cheese that were served. Highly recommend it!

We had the pleasure of spending two wonderful nights at La Bastide, and it was truly unforgettable. Bryan is an exceptional host—both warm and welcoming, yet perfectly discreet. He shared the fascinating story behind his meticulous selection of the furniture and details that give the bastide its unique charm. We thoroughly enjoyed our conversations with him, and his tips for exploring the nearby towns were spot on. Our room was incredible—more like a suite—radiating a perfect blend of Provençal elegance and castle-like allure. And the breakfast? Absolutely spectacular! It was a feast of fresh, high-quality ingredients: a vibrant fruit bowl, freshly baked bread, cheeses, charcuterie, pastries, a homemade omelet, and more (I’m sure I’m forgetting a few things!). Served in the bright and airy orangerie with a stunning view of the garden, it was the perfect way to start each day. Our weekend was truly magical, and I can’t wait to return!

Loved all the experience we had! The room was lovely and full of charming details. The food was perfect, we had both breakfast and dinner, and I truly recommend to enjoy the evening at Bastide. Brian is an amazing host. I truly regret we stayed only for 1 night. True gem! P.S. There is a peacock in the garden!!!

Taxis to / from Avignon can be expensive (20€ each way) so consider taking the bus or having your own car, and there are lots of mosquitos! Brian had a stock of spray, but definitely something to watch out for.

The property is stunning, the rooms are beautifully decorated and Brian is a fantastic host. The breakfast is luxurious with high quality ingredients, fresh pastries, bread and freshly squeezed orange juice. A real 10/10 stay.

The property is absolutely stunning, blending beautiful old-world charm with thoughtful, modern comforts. Our bedroom was spacious, elegantly decorated, and the bed was incredibly soft and comfortable, ensuring restful sleep every night. The surroundings of the bastide is quiet and peaceful.

Everything about this property was picture perfect. Me and my fiancé spent 5 nights here, and it honestly still didn’t feel like enough time. Our jaws dropped driving up to the stunning property. Brian was the most incredible host. He was so attentive, caring, funny, and genuine. Our room felt so picturesque. The pool was absolutely beautiful and perfect for the hot days we experienced there. During our stay we felt like we got to know Brian as a friend and we truly can’t wait to come back to this property. The true star of the show was the food we ate here. I read the reviews saying the dinner on property every night was absolutely amazing. We chose to have dinner there our first night and we both agreed it was one of the best meals we have ever had. We ended up eating there 4 out of the 5 nights we were there, and every single night was immaculate. The breakfast in the morning was also incredible and the service was amazing. We got engaged on this trip and Brian made us feel so special and celebrated. I cannot recommend this property enough. It is a once in a lifetime experience.

Accommodation, decor & atmosphere felt like a six star home. The food at breakfast & dinner were extraordinarily good. Not only was it all delicious & beautifully presented but it was personally served with great style & genuine warmth by Brian who is both host & chef. It's a unique experience to stay at Bastide de Bellegarde. Stay there because it is a fabulous experiential destination & not just because of its proximity to Avignon.

We were so happy we chose this place to stay as our Provence location. First of all the property is fabulously French eclectic and so comfortable but so luxurious at the same time. We like loved the decor, old world charm and design esthetics, but loved the modern enhancements. Or room had vaulted ceilings and room to spread out. Then we decided to have dinner at the place for the first evening after driving all day. The dinner/ meal was one of our best in France. The host is a trained chef and then to be able to take a luxurious shower and fall into our comfortable big bed and it was so quiet. The next morning , we had breakfast as well and honestly we were spoiled as nothing compared the rest of the trip. The fresh fruit , fresh squeezed orange juice, croissants , omelet and cheese and meats filled me us up for the whole day. This place is a highlight of our trip to France. We also met some travelers and had after dinner drinks in the lovely parlor.

I don't know where to start because everything about our stay at the bastille de Bellegarde was wonderful. On the outside the Bastille is a beautiful old stone provencal house set in a large garden. The inside is a quixotic mix of antiquities and art, lavish fabrics and old mirrors collected by the owner and host, Brian, who has restored this property with obvious love and attention. Our room was very generous with a separate seating area and large bathroom and faultlessly clean, comfortable and luxurious. And then there was breakfast - the very best of the wonderful local produce selected and presented with so much love and enthusiasm. We totally enjoyed the bastille's oddly exotic decor, lavish breakfast and Brian's warm welcome. We'll be back.

Perfect stay for family trip with Brian! Everything was perfect from the moment we arrived! Kids friendly, stunning rooms, comfortable bed , detailed design, the atmosphere with so many artworks around you, sunny and lovely pool, pretty garden, amazing breakfast, Brian’s funny and direct character, helpful staffs……such a wonderful place for our family! My son loved it here and definitely we are coming back!
