Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomWifi was spotty in some rooms, a minor thing
Attentive service from Brian and his team, a really comfortable bed (matress and linen), excellent breakfast, and excellent home cooked rustic style dinners. We had a toddler (2 year old) with us and the staff were very understanding and helpful.

United StatesWithout a doubt, one of the best lodging experiences we have ever had. Bastide De Bellegard exceeded all of our expectations. It starts with the host/owner, Brian, who goes above and beyond to meet all of the guests' needs. From our arrival until our departure, we loved our stay here. We highly recommend the breakfast and dinner options. The food that Brian prepared was excellent and he made us feel right at home. We could not recommend this place enough, and we hope to return as soon as we can.

Amazing stay. Brian has created a truly unique experience, with a stylish property - spacious, tasteful suites, super comfortable beds and wonderful view. Totally personalised service, Brian accommodated a late check in, an early morning breakfast and cooked us a lovely meal for dinner to save us going out.. From the moment you drive up the magnificent drive, the service is personal, warm and tailored to each guest. Brian even sent us on our way with extra pastries for the journey. The food was fantastic too.

United StatesThe internet wasn’t as fast as we were used to, but it’s the best you can get in the area.
Brian was amazing! He is willing to pick you up if you don’t have a car, and very responsive when messaged. He had dinner ready for us when we arrived, along with a wonderful bottle of wine. He really is there to take care of you, and will give you exactly what you need. We wish we would have been able to stay longer! And he speaks English, French, as well as a few additional languages, which was super helpful. The room was very comfortable, and the location felt very safe.

A fantastic experience for several reasons: Great ambiance and decoration in L'art du Vivre style. The owner Brian runs the business with great passion and dedication and with a lot of style. Experience France and Provence as if from the best designed advertisements. An incredible combination of antiques, works of art, books... and all in a nonchalant, almost careless French style. Dinner must be reserved! Brian is a great cook! The breakfast is also spectacular! Pictures really can't convey all the warmth and charm of this place! The location is also fantastic for visiting the top Provençal sites in the Luberon area as well as the great wineries of the Rhone valley.

United StatesWords cannot describe adequately. We loved the country setting, the beautiful paintings and sculpture, the dishes and crystal, the gorgeous bedroom. We would come to France just to stay here again! Brian, our host, was all one could wish for. He carried our bags to the third floor, he is a wonderful chef, and he made us feel welcome. His dinners were first rate. He gave so much of himself and is so kind in spite of working months without any time off. Best travel experience I have ever had. We met so many wonderful people from all over the world and even ran into one couple the next day in St. Remy (we had a lovely dinner together).

United StatesOur stay at the Bastide was a wonderful experience. Close to Avignon, we used it as a base for day trips in the lovely area of Provence. The Bastide de Belgarde is a stone home beautifully furnished—historic but recently updated. Our room had a sitting area, a large modern bathroom, and lovely view. A delicious breakfast was served at leisure each morning by Brian who has quite a gift of hospitality. He will take care of your every need, advise you about what to see in the area, and serve the most delicious dinners after a day of touring. This was truly a beautiful and unforgettable experience thanks to Brian’s hospitable personality.
