Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

The sliding doors on the bunk bed my finger got stuck in the holes, peeled my nail skin right off one for the designers that haha. But all good

Couldn’t have asked for more - we were a group of four and we arranged to have our own dorm, which was perfect for our needs. It was clean, well-kept, and the staff were incredibly helpful

Location was a little far from things but not a big deal.
Great value. Very cozy and not far from the Tram or bus stops. Amazing service.

Barely trash cans which make it impossible to recycle… No hair dryer
I really had luck and were alone in the dorm. I slept very good. The room is clean and spacious. Toilets and showers outside of the dorms. Staff was incredibly friendly 😍

The mattress was quite thin so not very comfortable.
The hostel was well positioned and attractive, with a lovely garden area . Bus into centre stops just outside and lots of restaurants and bars within 5/10 minutes' walk

The beds were comfortable, there were lockers for my luggage. There were plugs near the bed, which are always great to charge the phone, headphones and other equipment. The staff didnt speak english that well, but tried they're best!

The location wasn’t the best, I didn’t feel very safe as a solo female traveler walking to and from hostel. Maybe some bins in the rooms would be good and also some hand soap.
Hostel was clean and modern. The pods were comfortable and private which was nice. Staff were kind and helpful.

My first Hostel Experience. Stayed in a 4 Bed Mixed Dorm. Private Bed Pods are comfy, Air conditioned, Adapters & USB Chargers and a large lockable Storage Drawer for each Pod. All Staff lovely & friendly, lovely outdoor area for dining, relaxing with a glass of wine, enjoying the Sun. A simple Continental B/Fast to start the day for 7Euro well worth it. Booked for 2 days, stayed for 5 days. 10 min walk to Bordeaux St Jean Rail Station. Wifi no problem throughout the Property. A Very Clean, Tidy and Safe property for this Solo Kiwi Traveller. I’ll be back for sure.

It was all very good.
I love that hostel. One of the best i stayed at. Very nice receptionist. I loved the room and bathroom, very clean, the bed is perfect and gives a lot of privacy. I want to come back. Thanks for all.

Easily the cleanest, nicest hostel I’ve ever stayed at. The staff are super friendly and helpful, the rooms are great and the breakfast was delicious. I will definitely stay here again if I come back to Bordeaux.

The temperature of the bath(In the room) was not adjustable and there are only two options. You have to choose one. cold Or hot. And I, actually prefer the cold.

The lockers, while a nice feature, are equipped with a super-simple basic lock, which can be opened with a lockpick in few seconds: it doesn’t look really safe.
Brand new great hostel: funny total-lock closed bed compartments with kinda prison feeling 🙂 While it can give you the sensation of staying in a micro-capsule, it allows to lock yourself and your belongings 24/7.

No bin inside the room and no bin for paper towel in the bathrooms No kitchen Wifi in the rooms doesn't work
Everything very new and clean Very nice staff Breakfast was very nice and fresh, could have fruits/veggies Fridge to store own food Bedsheets are already on You can rent a towel (have to pay tho) Locks on the bed and on the draw to keep stuff A lot of privacy in the bed and light, power and lots of room at the top of the bed Toiletts are separated from the showers Great showers and very clean Place to leave your things before/after check-in/-out Nice garden with tables/great for kids Rooms are big, with racks to put your towel and coat-hangers
